Sarah Jessica Parker and Gerard Butler will co-host the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway. The 2012 Nobel Peace Prize is being awarded to the European Union.
The Nobel Peace Prize Concert is a tradition that honors the Nobel Laureate one day after the acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize.
This year's Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony honoring the EU is scheduled for Stockholm on Dec. 10, and the associated concert is set for Oslo on Dec. 11.
The concert will feature performances by the American Jennifer Hudson, the British Seal, the Norwegian Susanne Sundfor, the Norwegian hip-hop duo Karpe Diem, and the Swedish singer Laleh.
While attending the Nobel Peace Prize banquet is next to impossible, attending the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is as easy as buying a ticket via the Norwegian equivalent of Ticketmaster, Billetservice, Vanity Fair noted. Each ticket will cost between 635 and 1,045 Norwegian krone (from about $109 to about $180).
Speaking of being named as a co-host, Parker said, “I am honored to be sharing the stage with such amazing performers to promote the power of peace around the world.” And Butler talked about the Nobel Peace Prize winner, the EU, stating: “The European Union has shown the world what is possible when forces unite in peace. It’s a joy to stand alongside these magnificent artists and celebrate the EU and its contribution to world peace.”
