Oh, Benedict Cumberbatch. What an awkward British butterfly. His recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show is like the gift that just keeps on giving. There were Beyonce impressions, there were pengwings, and now there’s a story about the time he accidentally told a teenage girl she gave him a boner. And not just any teenage girl — a gold-medal-winning Olympic swimmer. What a time to be alive!

Let me set the scene for you. Last year (actually this year, but he says last year so just go with it) Benedict was presenting at the Laureus Awards, which he describes as “like the Oscars, but for sports.” He almost lost me as soon as he said the word “sports,” but his voice is so captivating that I kept listening. And boy was it worth it! Benedict explains that he spoke to American swimmer Missy Franklin at the event, and reminds us that she’s still a teenager (19 now, but 18 then). That’s an important detail to remember when you hear his story. Benedict was marveling at how much she’s accomplished at such a young age, and he was trying to express how old it made him feel, and he chose to use the sentence “I’m just getting stiff even listening to you.”

Eddie Redmayne, the freckled faced Brit who plays Stephen Hawking in "The Theory of Everything," is worried that he might have to compete with Benedict Cumberbatch, the otter faced Brit who plays Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game," when awards season arrives.

"I totally see why people are (comparing us), because of the subject matter; we both play geniuses. But I won't be engaged in that," Redmayne told Variety. "I think he's the most beautiful actor. I've long admired his work, and continue to do so. I hope there's room for both our films."

"There was this hilarious moment when we were shooting a scene at Harrow School," Redmayne continued. "There was a wooden board with names engraved on it, and by my head was 'B. Cumberbatch.' I'm like, 'Dude, you're haunting me!' I took a selfie of me dressed as Stephen and sent it to Ben."

Despite his starring role in "Theory of Everything," Redmayne insists he's "not a movie star."

"A movie star is someone who has to open a film to gazillions of dollars," the 32-year-old actor, who has had parts in "Les Miserables," and "The Good Shepard," said. "I'm just trying to pay my mortgage."

Richard Armitage in The Crucible trailer Exclusive: The Hobbit actor takes to the big screen again in screenings of the Old Vic’s five-star play

The witching hour approaches for much-anticipated cinema screenings of the Old Vic’s staging of The Crucible – starting with the trailer, which you can see first here.

The theatre’s sold-out production received glowing reviews when it played this summer, with The Hobbit actor Richard Armitage taking the lead as Arthur Miller’s fallen hero, John Proctor.

Director Yaël Farber took Miller’s American play, which looks at the McCarthy era witch hunts through the lens of the Salem witch trials, and had the cast play it with Yorkshire accents to five-star acclaim, including from The Telegraph.

In his review of The Crucible, theatre critic Charles Spencer said the production was "electrifying" and had "the intensity of a thriller".

Henry Cavill Defends Detroit During Royal Marines Run In Gibraltar

British actor Henry Cavill has called Detroit, Michigan home for the past six months and for the first time is talking about his experience in the Motor City. Cavill was in Gibraltar to participate in a run for a Royal Marines charity, an organization that provides assistance to past and present service members.

Taking a break from filming the Zack Snyder blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Henry flew to Europe to participate in the Royal Marines 350th Anniversary Rock Run, climbing the massive Gibraltar staple. As always, the Brit has been spotted in several fan photos posted all over social media.

One of the actor’s many fansites, Henry Cavill News, sat down with the 31-year-old during his time in Gibraltar and asked him about his time in Detroit and what he really thinks about the place he’s called home for so many months.

“There are so many horror stories about Detroit, and Michigan, and none of them are true. I’ve really enjoyed it, actually.”

This is Henry Cavill’s second time visiting Detroit in the past few years. The actor, who played Superman/Clark Kent in Man of Steel is reprising his role, this time to face another superhero, Batman, played by Ben Affleck, who has also praised and promoted Detroit.

Benedict Cumberbatch secret BBC project revealed: Actor to front Best of BBC Drama trailer

Benedict Cumberbatch is to front a new trailer showcasing the best of BBC drama.

The Sherlock actor - who has reportedly been cast as Doctor Strange in Marvel's new superhero film of the same name - will front the trailer which will celebrate the best of British drama.

Cumberbatch will read the All the World’s a Stage monologue from William Shakespeare’s As You Like It as the supercut trailer celebrates BBC drama with moments from seminal productions past, present and future.

The BBC previously teased the actor's involvement in the secret project on Twitter, leading fans to suspect all kind of things were going on.

New shows given their first airing as part of the celebration include the adaptation of JK Rowling's novel The Casual Vacancy, Dame Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman's drama Esio Trot and One Child from BAFTA-winning writer Guy Hibbert.

The highly-anticipated adaptation of Hilary Mantel's Man Booker Prize winning historical novel Wolf Hall will also feature, alongside the remake of Poldark and Jimmy McGovern's new eight part series Strange and Norrell.

Doctor Who, Luther, Last Tango in Halifax and Sherlock will also feature as will Call The Midwife, Happy Valley and EastEnders.

The Fall, Line of Duty, Death in Paradise and Peaky Blinders will also be shown, adding to the roster of impressive contemporary drama the BBC producers.

The trailer will also look back at some of the most successful and beloved dramas of the past including The Singing Detective, House of Cards, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, This Life, Pride and Prejudice, Criminal Justice, Small Island, Spooks and Life on Mars.
