Colin Firth wax figure on Ellen - but is it a "full Colin" ? (Examiner)

Lori Melton, Flint TV Examiner

Oscar winner Colin Firth made his only talk show guest appearance yesterday, January 18th, on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ to promote his critically-acclaimed film ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’, which opened in the US on January 8th. DeGeneres and Firth had fun discussing the spandex suit needed for CGI segments of the film. Firth was embarrassed his suit didn’t look the same in the color-coded crotch area as his co-star, Gary Oldham. Firth joked that nothing could help, no kind of fruit, nothing--and that Gary Oldham was ‘hung like a water buffalo’.

They also discussed Firth’s recent honor of being added to Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in London. Firth had not yet seen the statue in person. DeGeneres surprised him after a break by bringing the statue out on her stage. She had made special arrangements with the museum to have it flown over.
Firth was shocked and did a double take at the figure, whose resemblance to the live man is uncanny. Ellen showed him that the figure was also sporting her Ellen underwear. Firth said he wondered if it was all Colin underneath, but wouldn’t go exploring just then.
