Last night over in the UK on The Graham Norton Show (airs in the US tonight), Sherlock star Martin Freeman appeared as a guest on the show and confirmed that despite all of his other commitments (The Hobbit for one!), that a third series of the hit show was still well and truly on the cards.

When asked by Graham if he planned to make anymore episodes of Sherlock Freeman replied, “The plan is we will do a third series. There’s certainly more to do and I would like to do it.” adding “It’s one of the few things I’ve done ever really where I think ‘I’d like to do a lot of these’. It’s a very nice way to spend your time.”

This certainly puts my Sherlock excitement in to overload! I have season 2 to look forward to, when it begins airing on PBS on May 6 and now it seems that season 3 will eventually get made.

Take a look at the clip below, which also includes Freeman talking about getting more female attention and a new clip from season 2 (that also features Being Human’s Russell Tovey). If you want to see the interview in full make sure you watch the Brit packed Graham Norton Show tonight on BBC America that also includes Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan, Gerard Butler and music from Noel Gallagher.
