Colin Firth, Meryl Streep and others at the BAFTA Awards (The Gazette)

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts presented its awards, known as BAFTAS, at the Royal Opera House in London on Sunday night (February 12, 2012) The silent, black-and-white movie The Artist cleaned up with seven awards – best film, best director, best original screenplay, original music, best costume design, best cinematography. One could really say eight, though, since Jean Dujardin won the best actor award for his starring role in the film.
