IRVINE Welsh’s next movie adaptation sees Hollywood hunk James McAvoy play a cross-dressing junkie POLICE OFFICER.
Filth — based on the writer’s 1998 book — is due out next year with McAvoy, 32, as the lead. The film, due out next year, follows bigoted Bruce Robertson as he manipulates and hallucinates his way through the festive season in a bid to secure promotion and win back his family.
Welsh said: “McAvoy is incredible — he’s just tearing it up.
