Jeremy Irons stars in Season 2 of Showtime’s The Borgias .
When he’s not acting, Irons, 63, likes living on the edge because it “makes you appreciate life. It brings the joy of being alive into sharper focus.”
What else does Irons appreciate? His marriage to actress Sinéad Cusack: “The great thing about “for better or for worse” is that if you really take that seriously, then you find that when as a couple you’ve got through difficult periods and you’re still together, you’re much stronger.”
What does it take for a man to wow a woman? “I have no idea. I’m constantly enthralled by women and always want to learn about them. Probably listening is a bit of the secret.”
What advice did you give your sons (Sam, 33, and Max, 26) about women? “None. You bring up your children hopefully to be interesting, honest, delightful people. There’s an awful lot you can’t tell children. They find it quite difficult to believe you ever had relationships. Most generations think they invented sex.”
