Kenneth Branagh, Kate Winslet's Guernsey war film delayed Published Monday, Apr 2 2012, 4:58pm EDT | By Tom Eames (DIGITAL SPY)

Kenneth Branagh's upcoming war film set in Guernsey has been delayed for another year.

The Thor director announced earlier this year that he will helm an adaptation of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and her niece Annie Barrows. However, the project has suffered "continued casting and timing issues", according to a representative for Guernsey's Commerce and Employment Department. Producer Paula Mazur has stated that the delay will help improve the production when it begins in the future.

"It really is important to get the right cast on board," she said. "[The delay] will also allow for the shoot to take place when the wild flowers and vegetation are at their best in Guernsey, which personally was my ultimate goal."
