Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens Hints At Show Exit For Hollywood?Star admits he 'doesn't know' if he'll return to the period drama (E.)

We couldn't imagine our Sunday night viewing of Downton Abbey without Dan Stevens, but it appears that we might have to get used to the idea of watching the show without him after he hinted that he "doesn't know" if he'll be returning to the show for a fourth series.

It's fair to say that Dan's character, Matthew Crawley, hasn't had it easy. But that all changed at the start of the current series when he finally married Lady Mary, played by Michelle Dockery.

However, that could all change after Dan hinted that he is unsure of his future on the hit ITV1 period drama.

According to the Mail Online, the actor, who is set to make an appearance on Broadway in The Heiress, said: "New York for me is going to be one big adventure. I will be taking the whole family out and we will be there for six months. I don’t know if I will be returning to Downton."
