The nominations for the 2012 British Comedy Awards have been revealed, with the BBC's Twenty Twelve and The Thick of It to battle it out in the best actor, best actress and best sitcom categories.
The BBC's Olympics-based comedy series Twenty Twelve will take on the broadcaster's political satire The Thick of It in three categories at this year's British Comedy Awards.
Both programmes are nominated for Best Sitcom, while Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Hynes and Olivia Colman (Twenty Twelve) and Peter Capaldi and Rebecca Front (The Thick of It) will go against each other in their respective best television comedy actor and actress categories.
