The new series of the hit BBC drama reunites 19th Century copper Reid (Matthew Macfadyen), with his crime fighting pals Drake (Jerome Flynn) and Jackson (Adam Rothenberg).
They face trouble from within the force from corrupt rival inspector Jedidiah Shine played by Mawle.
Macfadyen said: “It’s fantastic to be reunited with much of the wonderful cast and crew. Also to be reunited with my bowler hat – I’d missed it.
“The creator (Richard Warlow) has given us wonderful, strange and unsettling episodes – teeming with the fierce and fragile life of Victorian Whitechapel.”
The Wire’s David Costabile will play Jackson’s older brother, Daniel, who arrives in the district for the two-part finale.
