JIMMY FALLON’S HILARIOUS ‘DOWNTON ABBEY’ PARODY RETURNS by: Mike Sampson Yesterday (SCREEN CRUSH)

We have to wait until after summer until ‘Downton Abbey’ officially returns for Season 3 but if you can’t wait that long, Jimmy Fallon brought back his ‘Downton Abbey’ parody “Downton Sixbey” (named after their 30 Rock studio, 6B). Brooke Shields and Fred Armisen return and bring with them a special guest: Questlove. Not just funny, it’s impressive that Fallon and his team are committing to long-form humor instead of just quick bits and skits. The ‘Downtown Sixbey’ sketch is just short of 10 minutes and more of a short than anything else. And yet, it still works.

Matt Smith wants Whoopi Goldberg or Colin Firth to star as a companion in the next series of 'Doctor Who'.
Matt Smith wants Whoopi Goldberg to play his companion in the next series of 'Doctor Who'.
The 28-year-old actor - who plays the Doctor - thinks the 'Sister Act' star would be a great foil for the Time Lord and he would also love Oscar winner Colin Firth to join him in the TARDIS.
He told BANG Showbiz: "Whoopi Goldberg would be a great companion wouldn't she? Yeah, she'd be great. Also I'd love Eric Cantona, or Colin Firth. Colin Firth would be great but he would not do it. God, when I think about it there are so many people I would love to get in it."
Matt acted opposite several guest stars in the current series including David Walliams, James Corden and Hugh Bonneville, and the sci-fi show is renowned for casting actors in one-off adventures.
This year's run ends tonight (01.10.11) with season finale 'The Wedding of River Song' and viewers will see the Doctor encounter pterodactyls and face his own death as he is pushed to the "edge".
Matt revealed: "Well it's a strange world that we occupy in the episode - there are children around when the pterodactyls are around, it's pretty bizarre. I probably shouldn't say you too much about it . I think it's very interesting for us to see this character that we all know in different guises and, know very well, fundamentally pushed to an edge."
'Doctor Who' Series 6 finale 'The Wedding of River Song' airs on BBC One tonight at 7.05pm.
