Sir Paul McCartney has paid tribute to Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple who died on Wednesday (October 5).
Jobs, who transformed Apple into the biggest brand in the world with products like the iPod and iPhone, had been battling pancreatic cancer.
In a statement, the former Beatles star said: "Steve was a great creative artist. He was also a loving husband and father and I feel privileged to have known him. I enjoyed his quick sense of humour and his love of music.
“He came to quite a few of our concerts and it was always a pleasure to see him bopping on the sidelines. I once said to him that he must be extremely proud of what he had done. He agreed but said he was even prouder of what he had not done.
“A great man who will be missed by me and many others."
Jobs famously struggled to bring The Beatles' music to iTunes over the last decade – but succeeded last year.
Other tributes have been paid by U2's Bono, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and Coldplay.
