The 29-year-old actress recently opened up about the possibility of a Devil Wears Prada sequel.

“What Meryl [Streep] said was she’d do it if she didn’t have to lose the f—ing weight, that was her quote. And I’d probably say the same because they made me lose weight for that. I was playing that character who was on the edge of ill thin just desperately trying to maintain her weight,” she told the Huffington Post UK.

Emily Blunt: Review: Naturalism key to `Your Sister's Sister' BY CHRISTY LEMIRE AP Movie Critic (KANSAS CITY STAR)

An almost hypnotic sense of naturalism draws you into "Your Sister's Sister," an intimate comic-drama about three people who find their lives intertwined in sudden and unexpected ways.

Writer-director Lynn Shelton, who made the possibility of gay porn between straight best friends seem logical if not downright inevitable in 2009's "Humpday," once again employs her preferred tactic of having her actors collaborate on developing their characters and improvising their dialogue. (The stars get a "creative consultant" credit.) The result is appealingly, believably imperfect. And although the end feels a bit too tidy by comparison - despite a final shot that's intentionally ambiguous - it also has an emotional impact that will sneak up on you.

That's thanks to Mark Duplass, who also co-starred in "Humpday," making an understated final plea that's sweetly heartbreaking. This is probably his best work yet, his most mature and deeply felt. And he's been everywhere in the past year or so between this, "Safety Not Guaranteed," the FX series "The League" and his own directing efforts with his brother, Jay, like "Jeff, Who Lives at Home."

However, Emily revealed she is ready to take a break from acting.

She said: ''Now that I've been doing it for a long time I don't have the desire to be on a film set all the time. I've already got three-movies coming out this year and I feel already that it's a Blunt overload.

''As Marlon Brando said, you've only got so many faces, so don't run out too quick.''

The 32-year-old actor - who co-wrote and starred in the movie - ''knew'' he would have good onscreen chemistry with the brunette actress before they even began shooting the romantic-comedy.

He joked: ''I've often imagined what could've been with us but time played a cruel trick on us. We are like brother and sister but we got along so well that I knew we would have that kind of chemistry onscreen.''

Her mother is a former star of the stage and screen.

And it appears as though Emily Blunt takes after her in more ways than one.

The 29-year-old actress was seen wearing a similar style to her mother Joanna as the pair took a stroll around New York City yesterday,

Laughing and smiling, the duo linked arms as the Oscar nominee showed her the sights and sounds of Manhattan.


Emily and Johanna's outfits were not that dissimilar.

The Devil Wears Prada star had slipped on a pair of skinny dark jeans, a cream knitted sweater and some leather buckled boots for the outing, while her mother opted for lighter denim and a beige wrap-around cardigan.

The two clearly had a lot to catch up on as they eagerly chatted throughout their journey.

Emily splits her time between living in the U.S and London with her husband The Office star John Krasinski.


Emily was born in Roehampton, London.

Her mother Joanna once enjoyed an acting career on stage and television before having Emily and her three other siblings.

Emily's father Oliver Simon Peter Blunt, QC, is barrister, one of the highest-profile barristers in the United Kingdom.

Emily Blunt struggles to be tidy.

The 29-year-old actress - who is married to actor John Krasinski - relaxes away from work by cooking but admits she finds it impossible to indulge in her hobby without making a mess.


She said: 'I love to cook - I'm a real foodie. The problem is that I'm also quite untidy, so when I do cook, it looks like a bomb has gone off in the kitchen. I'm trying to get better at being tidy and organised, but it is something I struggle with.'

Emily is now based in Los Angeles, and though she returns to the UK a lot, she admits she misses British pubs.

Emily Blunt talks to Melbourne Times Weekly 03 May, 2012 12:11 PM Stephen A Russell chats to film star Emily Blunt in Melbourne about her latest role in The Five Year Engagement.

Director Nicholas Stoller (of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek fame) has made a film that balances raucous giggles and teary sniffles. Blunt attributes this to a fresh script (co-written by Stoller and Segel) that doesn’t pander to the lowest common denominator.

 “Nick and Jason wrote something funny that’s engrained more in truth than vulgarity,” she says. “It’s not this vague gloss you see in a lot of romantic comedies with a silly premise, where women are completely objectified.”

 The film is a study of relationships, and there’s real heart to proceedings. Blunt says the boys were far from precious about their script, positively encouraging improvisation. “You bring a lot of yourself to the table. You’re kind of writing it in your head as you’re saying it, so the character feels quite personal.”

 No rom-com queen, Blunt’s career has encompassed everything from a quirky adaptation of a Philip K Dick novella The Adjustment Bureau, to lush period drama The Young Victoria. One of her most memorable performances was as the catty assistant to Meryl Streep’s monstrous editor in The Devil Wears Prada, in which she revealed her uncanny knack for comic delivery .

Her retort “no, shan’t” when Anne Hathaway’s naively sweet character asks Blunt to wish her luck is bitingly cruel in a deliciously wicked way.
