Michelle Dockery cried when she met Taylor Swift.

The 'Non Stop' actress took her godchildren to see the 'Love Story' singer and couldn't help but to get emotional at how excited they were when they got to meet singer afterward.

She said: ''The last time I cried? My Godchildren went to see Taylor Swift in concert and got to meet her. They literally ran toward her and hugged her, and it was amazing. I got big bonus points for it. I'll remind them when they're teenagers.''

Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery Happy To Lose Husband Matthew Crawley With Dan Stevens' Departure

'Downton Abbey's Lady Mary Crawley may have been left reeling from the sudden death of her husband Matthew Crawley, but actress Michelle Dockery admits she was far more agreeable to the changes it brought to her character.

"We all had that choice to stay or go for Series four and five," she tells HuffPostUK. "I respected Dan Stevens’ decision, we all did. There’s positives to everything. I think for the storyline, I wonder where it could have gone with Mary and Matthew had Dan decided to stay. Happiness... ?" she shrugs, acknowledging that such contentment doesn't make for great drama.

Instead, viewers have watched Lady Mary sleepwalk around the house for the last series, with Michelle glad she's finally emerging from her year of widowed gloom.

"Towards the end of Series 4, Mary had a little bit of mojo coming back," she laughs. "That sharper wittier edge coming back. Her sense of humour is returning, so I’m really excited to see where it goes."

In the film 'Non-Stop', in cinemas this week, Michelle acts alongside Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore in an airborne thriller, where they must work to save the passengers' lives when one traveller goes very much rogue. As air stewardess Nancy, Michelle is warm and purry, a million air miles from Lady Mary's porcelain veneer, something Michelle seems relieved about...

Michelle Dockery: I want Downton forever (BELFAST TELEGRAPH)

Michelle Dockery has explained her "love affair" with Downton Abbey.

The 31-year-old plays Lady Mary Crawley in the award-winning British TV show. While some stars are eager to try their hand at different roles, for now Michelle wants the period drama to last as long as possible.

"There’s a part of me that doesn’t want it to end, because I love it so much... and once it’s all over, I’m sure there will be a period when I feel slightly at a loss," she said in an interview with the August edition of Harper's Bazaar. "It’s like this love affair that I have with my job."

Despite playing an aristocratic character with a stiff upper lip in the show, Michelle insists she is far more laidback in real life. Striving to succeed in the acting business has taught her to stay grounded and humble.

DOWNTON ABBEY: First black character appears in Downton Abbey (SUN)

DOWNTON Abbey is introducing its first black character as part of a storyline about race relations in the 1920s.

The award-winning stately home drama is seeking an actor to play musician Jack Ross.

Casting notes were sent out to actors’ agents earlier this month. They describe Ross as “Male, 25-30. A musician (singer) at an exclusive club in the 20s.

“He’s black and very handsome. A real man (not a boy) with charm and charisma.”

Whoever lands the role should “ideally be able to sing brilliantly”. The notes add: “Overall he should be a very attractive man with a certain wow factor.” Jack Ross will play a key part in the fourth series of the hit TV saga alongside a string of other fresh faces.

Lady Mary Crawley gets a new love interest — dashing Lord Anthony Gillingham.
