Paul McCartney:He's still got it! Paul McCartney commands crowd of 150,000 as he performs epic three-hour concert in Mexico city By HOLLY THOMAS PUBLISHED: 05:31 EST, 12 May 2012 | UPDATED: 09:12 EST, 12 May 2012 (MAIL ON LINE)
Paul McCartney gave a concert men half his age could only dream of pulling off in Mexico City.
The Beatles star, who will turn 70 in June, played 40 songs during his three hour set on Thursday night.
The free Mother's Day concert was sponsored by Mexico City's mayor's office.
McCartney played up to his audience, shouting the slang 'Viva Mexico, cabrones!' (Long Live Mexico, you b******s)! at the end of Elanor Rigby.
He demonstrated admirable local nouse when he referred to City residents as 'Chilangos,' a colloquial term for capital-born Mexicans.
Carlos Cordero, a music student in Mexico City, told the Wall Street Journal, 'Do you know why Mexico is among the best audiences in the world? People here go to concerts to escape from an everyday hell people live in.'
