All The Photos Of Paul McCartney Performing At Bonnaroo You Could Ever Want WRITTEN BY JOSH KURP (UPROXX)
"We're about to see a goddamned Beatle." You couldn't walk five feet without hearing at least one person utter that glowing refrain during night two of Bonnaroo around the What Stage (not that you could walk five feet; by nightfall, the 16-acre Manchester, Tennessee, farm was packed to the silo with 70,000 people). Paul McCartney was about to take the stage, and yes, he was a goddamned Beatle, as well as a goddamn Wing and goddamn one of the greatest rock 'n' roll songwriters of all-time. The man wrote "I've Just Seen a Face," for goddamn sake.
And then we saw him, Mecca, looking a bit looser than in his Beatle days, but still youthful, forever The Cute One. For two and a half hours, he played classic after classic, everything from pumped versions of "Eight Days of Week," "Helter Skelter," and "All My Loving" to pyrotechnic power ballad "Live and Let Die" to loving tributes to George and John with "Something" and "Here Today" to the delicate "Yesterday" and "Blackbird," where part of the stage he stood on rose 30 feet in the air, giving the people a half-mile away a sight line to him and his acoustic guitar.

Paul McCartney still tops the richest musician in Britain list (caribbean360.com)
LONDON, England, Friday April 19, 2013 – At the ripe old age of 70, former Beatles and Wings star Sir Paul McCartney is still the richest musician in Britain, booting “Cats” creator Andrew Lloyd-Webber into the doghouse; giving U2 a big “you, too” and conveying a clear message to Elton John to “Get Back, Honky Cat,” not to mention leaving Mick Jagger with no “Satisfaction”.
McCartney's £680 million (US$1.04 billion) fortune put him in the top spot on the Sunday Times Rich List 2013, which will be published in full on April 21, and ranks the UK and Ireland's richest musicians.
The ranking is nothing new for the vintage entertainer who has topped all the charts for the country's wealthiest musicians since the Rich List’s inception in 1989. At that time he was only worth a paltry £80 million.
Apart from his featured appearances at Queen Elizabeth's diamond jubilee and both the opening and closing ceremonies for the London Olympics, the former Beatle's "On the Run" tour grossed US$57 million last year.
Plumping-up his total was his millionairess third wife Nancy Shevell's stake in her father's New England Motor Freight empire.

Ringo captivates, with a little help from his friends Date February 15, 2013 - 12:02AM Read later Reviewed by Ed Gibbs (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD)
Almost half a century has passed since Ringo Starr last toured these shores.
For all the hysteria that greeted the Beatles' arrival here in 1964, only one of the Fab Four (Paul McCartney) ever returned to play in the years that followed.
Having another former Beatle in town, then, feels like a novelty: a rare treat for musicologists and nostalgia types. Particularly since only two of the four are still with us.
Starr – who will turn 73 in July – looks and sounds absurdly fit. Armed with an infectiously dry, self-deprecating wit, he arrived with the considerable support of his so-called All Starr Band, which includes Toto's Steve Lukather, Gregg Rolie, of Santana and Journey fame, and bad boy Todd Rundgren. And for the adoring throng that all but filled the usually cavernous Hordern Pavilion on Wednesday night, Starr could do no wrong.

Richest Frontman In The World? It’s Paul McCartney By Wendy Geller | Stop The Presses!
"Lead singer of a famous rock band" shapes up to be a pretty lucrative gig no matter how one slices it--but ever wondered which lead singer is the richest of them all? Not surprisingly, the title goes to legendary Beatle Paul McCartney, who tops a list over such other megabucks-frontmen as U2's Bono, Elton John, Jimmy Buffett, and Rolling Stone Mick Jagger.

Paul McCartney gets his star on Hollywood Walk of Fame (LA Times)
February 9, 2012 | 5:06pm

There's no shortage of stars, real and imagined, visible along Hollywood's Walk of Fame, but even by Tinseltown standards, Paul McCartney ramped up the quotient Thursday in getting his own belated star.
The former Beatle drew several hundred fans who packed a cordoned-off section of Vine Street outside Capitol Records for the ceremony.
He brought several Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member pals along for the ride, including Neil Young, who gave McCartney a cheery introduction, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh and pop music power couple Elvis Costello and Diana Krall. Jazz great Herbie Hancock was there as well as musician-producer Don Was and former Electric Light Orchestra leader/Traveling Wilburys member Jeff Lynne. McCartney's wife, Nancy, and son, James, also attended the ceremony.

"Let me tell you a little bit about our friend Paul here just as a musician," said Young, wearing a black leather Buffalo Springfield tour jacket. "When I was in high school and the Beatles came out, I loved the Beatles and I tried to learn how to play like them, and no one could figure out what Paul was doing on the bass. Not only was he playing differently because he plays left-handed, he played notes that no one had put together before -- in a way that made us stand in awe of this great musician."
"I'm so proud to be doing this," he added. "As a musician, as a songwriter, Paul's craft and his art are truly at the top of his game, the way Charlie Chaplin was an actor. He has an ability to put melodies and feelings and chords together, but it's the soul that he puts into everything he does that makes me feel so good and so happy to be here."
McCartney then stepped to the microphone and first acknowledged his debt to "three other guys -- so thanks, John, George and Ringo."
