HENRY CAVILL - A VISION IN PLAID

With production on The Dark Knight Rises having moved from the streets of Pittsburgh to interiors in Los Angeles, the flurry of spoilerific set photos that so briefly made all our lives worth living are only memories, but the Christopher Nolan-produced Superman reboot Man of Steel continues shooting on the streets of Plano, Illinois, so we've got some DC superhero set photos to make things right again. With Plano doubling as Smallville, director Zack Snyder has been orchestrating all manner of mayhem, which means these images contain some military-inflected action and destruction. And although we don't get another look at Henry Cavill in his super-costume, he was filming scenes as good old country boy Clark Kent.
Before anybody cries foul about Kent not sporting some goofy glasses, keep in mind that he's home in Smallville here, where grew up and is more at ease. He's not in the bumbling, glasses-wearing Kent mode that he adopts in Metropolis.
These images were posted to an unofficial facebook page for the film. Head over for a whole lot more images.

So far, filming on Man of Steel has consisted of Smallville-based scenes in rural Illinois, but production will soon head to Chicago and Vancouver, expanding Superman's imaginary world. The film's cast includes Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Harry Lennix, and Chrisopher Meloni, whose character Colonel Hardy has been present for the small-town action.
Man of Steel is set for release on June 14, 2013
