Colin Firth and wife Livia Guiggiani attended the UK premiere of The Debt, starring Helen Mirren at The Curzon Mayfair tonight (September 21st) in London, England. The dashing Firth, who won a Best Actor Oscar for portraying King George VI in The King’s Speech, gave up the goods recently on Bridget Jones’s Diary 3.

According to Anglotopia, Firth told Marie Claire that the script is currently being worked on AND that we’ll see the full cast return (though no word a confirmation for Hugh Grant yet). Firth did say that the plot looked interesting and that “It does become a bit of a family at the time, it’ll be like one of those rather fraught family reunions at Christmas.” That doesn’t make a ton of sense, but we’ll take it!

“There’s a script,” Firth continued. “This character has obviously inhabited part of my life. I’m always interested to see where it’s taken, and it does look as if it’s going somewhere interesting.” Of course it has! You’re Mark Darcy, top barrister! Firth also said that Darcy and Bridg can’t have children on their own, “So then she makes the huge mistake of going back to Daniel Cleaver for long enough to get pregnant. And I think he dumps her, and she’s left stranded, and guess who comes back to rescue her?”
I’m not sure I’m in love with this idea of Bridget going back to Cleaver because she and Darcy can’t have kids. Are Bridg and Mark married? We need more!
