Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter film series, is relieved to be able to enjoy a calmer lifestyle after revealing this past summer that he secretly hid a drinking problem for years. According to WENN, the young actor insists he now enjoys socializing with his friends without worrying about what would happen after partying. He is certainly young to be so aware of how his drinking habits were affecting his life, but he is also obviously making the right decision.
"(My life is) a lot better and less chaotic. 449 or so days ago—but who's counting?—was my last drink. I just felt like I was chasing chaos and making my life difficult, all the time thinking I was having fun. So it feels very nice to not be putting myself in danger, to be waking up in the mornings and not thinking, 'Oh my god, who am I going to hear from? What did I do?' It's a life lived without dread and fear and it is lovely." the 22-year-old actor told Total Film magazine.
Daniel Radcliffe may not be drinking any more, but that certainly doesn't mean he can't go out and have a good time with his friends! In fact, he's probably even more glad he no longer imbibes after seeing his friends drinking while he's sober.
Alcoholism has destroyed many careers and lives, so Daniel Radcliffe definitely has the right idea getting a handle on his problem so early. Will he continue to win against this addiction while avoiding other common addictions? Fans hope for the best for him!
