The first adaptation of an Irvine Welsh book, Trainspotting, was a huge success 16 years ago and made a star of leading man Ewan McGregor.
So fans of the best-selling novelist are probably wondering why it took film-makers so long to adapt his controversial 1998 book Filth.
Atonement star James McAvoy, 32, is set to cast off his nice guy persona as he takes the title role alongside Jamie Bell in the upcoming movie
The two actors were spotted on location in Glasgow, Scotland, this week dressed as police officers.
Filth tells the story of an immoral police officer named Bruce Robertson, who is also a sex-obsessed cocaine addict.
As well as his constant craving for sex and violence, Bruce is also a racist and misogynist.
