'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: Tom Hardy, Friend Of Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, Considered Grey Front-Runner? By Bobby Pollier, EnStarz Read more

Fans have been continuously buzzing over who they feel would make the Christian Grey character in the film adaptation of the E.L. James racy read "Fifty Shades of Grey."  Although the author and the rest of the production team has remained quiet on just who the front runner will be in the casting process, the progression toward making the actual movie itself just picked up a little more steam.

On Monday, it was announced by Universal and Focus Features  that "Terry Nova" writer Kelly Marcel would be brought on to pen the film script.  The 38-year-old is also a friend and fan of "Lawless" actor Tom Hardy, who just so happens to be one of the front-runners for the role of Grey.  Interestingly enough, Marcel and the 34-year-old British heart throb also founded the "Bad Dog Theater Company" in London together.
