BRENDAN COYLE: Win Kinky Downton Abbey Dinner Date with Bates - Up for Auction - by Julie Miller (VANITY FAIR)

If the idea of waiting until January 2014 to see your beloved Bates during the fourth season of Downton Abbey seems unconscionable—like your own Batesian prison sentence—Origin Theatre Company is offering solace to one super-fan with an amazing, somewhat kinky new auction. British actor Brendan Coyle, who plays the wrongly accused valet on the series, has decided to allow the winning bidder to lavish him with the kind of care and attention that his character reliably provides on the show.

During one evening in New York (sometime between August and December 2013, according to Coyle’s schedule), the actor “has agreed to let himself be waited on hand and foot by a super lucky auction bidder.” What does waiting on Coyle encompass, exactly? According to the auction’s description . . . the winner “will read poetry to Coye in a horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park” [Blogger’s note: !!!!!!!] “and then take Coyle to dinner at the super fancy Per Se at the Time Warner Center, all the while making sure that Coyle’s every need is taken care of.” (The off-color implications of this invitation are open for interpretation.)
