A Point of Geeks report
It seems that we will be in for all sorts of surprises next year when The Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters. Fans can expect to see cameos of brand new characters to the Marvel cinematic universe and a few familiar faces will be returning as well.
In an interview with The Telegraph, actor Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World, The Wire) casually discussed his involvement in the Thor movies and he let it slip that he has recently shot a scene for Age of Ultron:
“Ironically, yesterday I had to…” Elba chuckles. He’s not meant to talk about this, but he clearly enjoys doing things he’s not meant to do. “I’m in Avengers,” he reveals. He means that his Thor character, deity-cum-sentry Heimdall, appears in Age of Ultron, the second installment of the superhero ensemble franchise. “And I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth [who plays Thor] and Tom Hiddleston [Loki], and they’re like, [whispers] – ‘Aren’t you [meant to be] in Ibiza?"
Whoa! Somebody in Marvel Studios is banging their fist down on their desk in anger right now. Tom Hiddleston's Loki has become one of the most popular characters in the Marvel cinematic universe (MCU) and by far the most well-rounded villain. If Marvel wanted this news to be public, they would have certainly made mention of it at last week's huge event where they announced their future projects. Add to the fact that Elba called working on Marvel movies "torture" during the course of the interview and suddenly Heimdall's future in Thor: Ragnarok seems to be sealed.
