Livia Firth for Yoox

Harpers Bazaar

“I’d love if we could get to the point where fashion was only ever produced in an ethical way,” Livia Firth told us in this month’s issue of Bazaar. She may be the wife of Oscar-winning, thespian god Colin Firth, but Livia Firth has been making a name for herself as an eco-style queen taking the red carpet by storm, and she will be selling one of her design creations exclusively at yoox.com next month.

In collaboration with Reclaimed-To-Wear, an organization that brings together designers, producers and distributors to create capsule collections developed from pre-consumer textile waste and surplus from mills and manufacturers, Livia has designed the perfect eco-party-dress available from late November – just in time for the festive season.

Inspired by Grace Kelly and a vintage 50s polka-dot dress owned by husband Colin’s mother, Livia has showcased the design on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival – a fitting tribute to her Green Carpet Challenge initiative – her personal quest to raise the profile of eco designers in the red carpet.
We may not be stepping out on the red carpet any time soon, but we can’t wait to cut a rug in this fun and flirty guilt-free creation.
