Man of Steel 2 Update: Zack Snyder, Henry Cavill to return for sequel; Snyder reveals idea for twist ending

Apart from his appearance in the first two DCEU films, many are wondering whether Superman will be back for Man of Steel 2. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, Director Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill expressed their interest in making the film.

Snyder said that they would love to make the sequel if a good script is developed for the sequel. "I think if we could get a good script it would be great to have a standalone Superman movie. I think that would be fun to do." Snyder said. As reported by Screen Crush, he also added that part of the reason they haven't announced Man of Steel 2 is to support the events in the recently released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Detroit has been announced as the next Gotham City. According to MTV, the "Man of Steel" sequel is going to be filmed in metro Detroit and throughout the state of Michigan. It was rumored at one point that the movie, which still hasn't been given an official title, was going to be shot in Vancouver.

The Michigan Film Office broke the news but the exact start date of filming hasn't been revealed yet even though production is expected to start at the beginning of 2014.

Man of Steel 2 was originally pegged to film in Vancouver, but it has since been relocated to Toronto for tax reasons. Though a good portion of Man of Steel was filmed in Vancouver, favorable film tax credits in Ontario were too good to pass up, according to VanCityBuzz.

Man of Steel 2, also being dubbed Superman vs. Batman, "would be the first film to have the fan favourite superheroes appear on the big-screen together, director Zack Snyder said. "Let's face it, it's beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest superheroes in the world."

It's no surprise that break up rumors are flying around Henry Cavill and Gina Carano dating as "Man of Steel 2" casting news emerges.

According to CelebDirtyLaundry.com, fans are saying that 30-year-old Superman and his 31-year-old "Fast and Furious 6" actress girlfriend broke up recently because no one has seem them together at any "Man of Steel" premieres.

But the report said that it doesn't mean anything, citing that Carano "might not have wanted to draw attention from Henry, she could be busy with a movie role, etc. etc."

Fans also said that they spotted Cavill "getting close" to several women in Australia recently, but Celeb Dirty Laundry slammed those rumors and looked at the positive side:

For what it's worth, there didn't seem to be any picture evidence of this 'flirting', and I think Gina's just busy. Either that, or the studio's trying to sell him as single to draw in more women to see the film. If that's the case, trust me WB, you don't need to sell him as single to get women to come to the movie - his face and body is already doing that for you.
