Emma Thompson and her lookalike daughter Gaia step out in matching outfits... and they've even got the same haircut By EMILY SHERIDAN PUBLISHED: 06:06 EST, 17 May 2012 | UPDATED: 08:04 EST, 17 May 2012 MAIL ON LINE
The film title may be Men In Black III, but Emma Thompson decided to look at the opposite end of the spectrum when it came to dressing her and her daughter.
The actress, 53, and her daughter Gaia, 12, made a rare red carpet appearance together at the former's latest film premiere.
And as if their similar features weren't enough to let onlookers know they were mother and daughter, the pair were dressing in similar clothing and even had matching haircuts.
Arriving at the Leicester Square screening last night, the Oscar winner was wearing a pristine white Maria Grachvogel trouser suit, while Gaia complemented her mother in a white Zara shift dress and matching pashmina.
Thompson and her husband Greg Wise rarely bring their daughter to public events.

Daniel Day Lewis: Tommy Lee Jones Calls Daniel Day-Lewis’ Portrayal Of ‘Lincoln’ The Best Ever Posted on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012 by Germain Lussier (FILM)
Tommy Lee Jones is not an easy man to impress. For example, on the set of Men In Black 3, Will Smith said you knew you told a really, really hilarious joke when Jones cracked the tiniest of smiles. That said, the praise he laid upon Daniel Day-Lewis, his co-star in Steven Spielberg‘s upcoming Lincoln, is very exciting. Jones, who is something of a history expert, said no one has ever portrayed Lincoln as well as Day-Lewis does in this film. Being as we have yet to see anything official from Lincoln, this is more than just a ringing endorsement.

Ray Stevenson: Pompeii (shooting starts in 2012) (International Business)
Pompeii (shooting starts in 2012)
If Earth makes it past the Dec. 21 deadline conspiracy theorists insist is the end of the world, Resident Evil director Paul W.S. Anderson is set to release Pompeii, a disaster flick set during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. The movie won't just feature volcanic CGI destruction, but will also include a love story, according to reports that will star Christoph Waltz, Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson and Milla Jovovich.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (April 20)
The end of the world doesn't have to be all doom and gloom as this flick might suggest. Rom coms have taken audiences from working girls climbing the corporate ladder to faked orgasms in Katz's Delicatessen to lifting a boombox in front of a professed love's home, but doomsday?
Sure thing!
In "Seeking a Friend for the End of the World", as an asteroid hurls towards Earth, Dodge (played by Steve Carell) searches out his long-lost high school sweet heart after he wife jets in a panic. Dodge's neighbor Penny (played by Keira Knightley) joins him, putting a wrench in his plans. Directed by Lorene Scafaria.
Men in Black III (May 25)
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones launch this third 3D installment from the Men in Black franchise, but this time, it's a future mankind they're out to save.
This flick will time travel back to 1969 after Agent J (Smith) catches word that an evil alien named Boris is threatening to destroy the world. Agent J meets the younger Agent K (Jones) in the battle against the baddies.
Prometheus (June 8)
Director Ridley Scott's upcoming sci-fi action flick will pit a team of explorers against an alien life force driven to destroy the human race.
In the movie, a group of researchers venture to the darkest coerners of the universe to find the beginning of life only to find an unknonwn enemy that the film makers say will lead them to "fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."
World War Z (Dec. 21)
Just in time for the alleged doomsday date of Dec. 21, this novel-inspired film takes a look at a post-apocalyptic world destroyed by flesh-eating zombies. The movie stars Brad Pitt as Gerry Lane, a U.N. employee " who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself," according to reports. In the original novel, Lane interviews zombie survivors in an effort to piece together a world war that destroyed every nation on Earth. Directed by Marc Forster.

Best Film Releases of 2012 (the Purple Revolver)
by Samantha Maine. Published Mon 26 Dec 2011 14:07
It’s been a year of sequels and prequels and no doubt, 2012 will be full of them too.
We at Purple Revolver take a look at some of the most exciting film releases we can look forward to for 2012.
The Avengers (May 4th)Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and The Hulk have all had their solo glory over the years and 2012 is the year they all come together for the first time on film.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon has taken the directorial reigns, which no doubt means there will be no special effect expense spared.
Starring Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson, comic-con regulars and film buffs will definitely be excited for this one.
Men in Black 3 (May 25th)More than a decade since the last Men in Black adventure, Will Smith once again throws on that infamous suit.
When the world is threatened by an evil alien, Agent Jay travels back in time to 1969, where he teams up with the younger Agent Kay to stop an evil villain named Boris (Jemaine Clement) from destroying the world in the future.
However cynical you are about sequels, you definitely won’t want to miss out on this one.
The Amazing Spider Man (July 3rd)British actor Andrew Garfield is the latest guy to take on Spidey. Going back to High School, Peter Parker once again struggles with his hormones, his spandex and err, his spidey senses.
Although it’s a little early for a prequel, Andrew has already been praised for his portrayal of the infamous hero and with Emma Stone playing the leading lady, these two will cement themselves as some of the best young actors of the year.
The Dark Knight Rises (July 20th)Christopher Nolan’s adaptations of billionaire Bruce Wayne have won fans and critics over. The Dark Knight Rises takes place eight years after The Dark Knight, and Batman faces new challenges in the form of brutal Bane and Catwoman.
Fans of the original comic are excited to see Bane as the baddy and if Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Bronson is anything to go by, he’s going to make an awesome villain!
Total Recall (August 3rd)1990 saw the first attempt at this Philip K. Dick classic and Arnie didn’t disappoint. It’s no wonder then, that movie fans are sceptical of yet another re-make.
Colin Farrell will be playing Douglas Quaid, which is an interesting and somewhat controversial choice. Jessica Biel will be playing Melina and stars Kate Beckingsale and Ethan Hawke also feature.
Unlike the original, the story all takes place on one planet. Only true sci-fi fans will be able to judge whether this will be a hit or a miss.
Expendables 2 (August 17th)
The plot is still firmly under Stallone’s biceps, but if the first film was anything to go by this’ll be an awesome treat of true 90’s style action.
The original cast of the first film all make an appearance including Arnie, Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis. Expect explosions, over the top plots and plenty of brilliant one-liners.
Dredd (September 21st)Sylvestor Stallone first took on the role back in 1995 and the film itself was kind of so bad, that it was kind of good. Stallone was the perfect choice for Street judge, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot.
This time, Karl Urban takes on the character, with Pete Travis directing. They’ve got some big boots to fill but not too much to improve on!
The Hobbit (December 4th)J.R.R. Tolkien’s infamous story of how Bilbo Baggins came to find that ring has been screaming out at Hollywood ever since the success of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
It comes as no surprise then that Peter Jackson has taken the reigns once again to showcase this magical story.
British actor Martin Freeman is Bilbo, which has made many movie critics raise an eyebrow or two. This will be the first of two films for the story, so be sure to cement your seat in the front row!
