Thor: The Dark World was reshot to include extra scenes with Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, due to the actor’s tremendous chemistry with the titular character played by Chris Hemsworth. Director, Alan Taylor, told Collider, “We’re doing full scenes, scenes that were not in the movie before. We’re adding scenes, creating scenes, writing scenes for the first time.”

He then added, “We realised how well Loki was working in the movie, and we wanted to do more with him. So it was that kind of thing, it was like, ‘Oh, we could do this, we could jam this in here because he’s such a wonderful guy to watch do his stuff.’”

Previously, Hiddleston described his performance in the upcoming Thor sequel, stating, “Oh, I’ve got plenty to do in Thor, believe me. A lot of new stuff. It’s a new iteration of the character. It’s a new development. Another trick, another poker game for the god of mischief. And he plays it well.”
