Crime drama Broadchurch is likely to be a huge hit in Scotland this spring, with fans of David Tennant expected to flock to the eight-part series.
The actor, who starred in Doctor Who for five years, was voted into the top five contenders for STV's Greatest Scot in 2009 and has remained popular since.
Audience figures during his time as The Doctor show that he was particularly popular in Scotland, while an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show last weekend doubled the average audience of the programme.
In his latest role, he'll play DI Alec Hardy: a newly promoted detective brought in to investigate when the bloodied body of a boy is found on an idyllic beach.

SEAN BEAN IS RELISHING NEW FILM ROLE (EXPRESS CO. UK)
By Lizzie Catt with Lisa Higgins and Jack Teague
SEAN BEAN is relishing his new role. The burly Yorkshireman, 52, plays an intelligence agent in terrorist film Cleanskin and says he enjoyed feeling super-macho on set when battling against a suicide bomber called Ash, played by young actor Abhin Galeya.
“It’s good fun, especially having fights with Ash. It’s always good fun to have fights. There’s some good violence in there but there’s no wallowing in gore, it’s more an extension of the characters’ raw emotions.”
And keen to show off his warrior body, heart-throb Sean almost got carried away at the premiere of the film at London’s Mayfair Hotel, asking photographers: “Shall I take my top off?” Rest assured cold towels were provided to ladies in the crowd.

GOT ‘DOWNTON ABBEY’ WITHDRAWAL BLUES? (BBC AMERICA)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HkBPI544JcY
By Leah Rozen | Posted on Monday, February 20th, 2012
All good things must come to an end. Season Two of Downton Abbey concluded yesterday (Sunday, Feb. 19) in what was billed as a special, two-hour Christmas episode airs on Masterpiece.
No need to don mourning clothes, though, because the hit British show will be back on PBS in early 2013 with Season Three, which just went into production in England. For those who can’t wait, see the clip below.
It’s Downton’s three Crawley sisters – Jessica Brown Findlay, Laura Carmichael and Michelle Dockery – dishing the Christmas special with British TV chat show host Jonathan Ross on his Yuletide program last December. Watch for a cameo by Tom Cruise and an even funnier one by Jim Carter, who plays butler Mr. Carson.

Keira Knightley discussed her body double for Domino (Music Rooms)
The actress told Jonathan Ross how the need came about.
Talking to Ross, Knightley said, "I have this policy in films where I say, you can have the top half but you can't have the bottom half, and it kind of works well.
There was this scene in Domino where I was meant to do a bit of a striptease and a dance with a thong on. I was just like, it's not going to happen. I said, could you get me a bottom please.
"And so I went into a room with Tony Scott, the director, and these three women came in and just dropped their trousers and he was like, 'Well, which one do you want?' "And how do you say to the bottom double, do you say, 'Well I don't want that one, that one's crap. "You don't get a feel. They then go out and you discuss the bottom. It's tricky, you go, do I introduce myself or not, and it's a bit weird if you don't. The girl we picked had a lovely bottom."
The actress appeared on the show to talk about her new film A Dangerous Method, which also stars Michael Fassbender.

Tom Hardy, Keira Knightly and Denzel Washington on Jonathan Ross Show (Metro)
The Jonathan Ross Show turned to big screen talent to up its game
TV review:
This weekend's Jonathan Ross Show had already received its fair share of publicity thanks to Tom Hardy's embarrassment - but ultimately it was Keira Knightley's vodka-drinking antics that stole his thunder. Related

Given the pre-show publicity over whether or not Tom Hardy was 'acting', this edition of the Jonathan Ross Show had the potential to become a real talking point - since it featured the interview in which the Batman star 'pretended' to get all huffy over some 14-year-old Big Breakfast footage.
Ultimately, however - and, we, have to say, not entirely unpredictably - the whole thing proved a bit of an anti-climax - not least because firstly we all knew it was going to happen, thus removing the element of surprise - and secondly because the genial star was upstaged by Keira Knightley and her vodka-swilling antics.
Even she was taken aback by Wossy's offer of a drink - but regardless whether it loosened her tongue, she was certainly among the more entertaining guests of the night.

Tom Hardy walks off the Jonathan Ross show over this picture? (Mail)
Is this the picture that made Tom Hardy feel like a 'total idiot' on Jonathan Ross? Actor left embarrassed by old modelling footage
By Sarah Bull
Last updated at 9:30 AM on 6th February 2012He's arguably now considered one of the most attractive actors in the world.
So it comes as no surprise that back in 1998, Tom Hardy was crowned the winner of a modelling competition on The Big Breakfast.
However, the actor is clearly embarrassed about his modelling past, as it has been reported that he felt like a 'total idiot' after Jonathan Ross showed footage of him taking first prize during an interview on his show.
Back in the day: Tom Hardy was apparently left embarrassed
after footage of hm winning a modelling competition on The Big Breakfast was
shown on Jonathan Ross
A source told The Sun: 'Tom really wasn't happy about the footage being shown and said he looked like a total idiot.
'When he walked off, Jonathan turned to the audience and said, "He is genuinely p****d off with me".'
According to fans in the audience, the interview continued to get even more awkward when Jonathan asked Tom about his role as Bane in Batman - a film which is shrouded entirely in secrecy.
That didn't go down too well! The actor apparently felt
like a 'total idiot' after the footage was shown
The source added: 'After that moment, the interview was a squirm-fest.
'Especially when Tom said he couldn't talk about his part in the new Batman film.'
However, the pair are said to have put the incident behind them later in the show - making up with a hug.

Daniel Radcliffe makes friends with a Penguin (Mail On-Line)
He fought dragons, battled irate mermaids and
warded off dementors (figuratively at least) during his tenure as Harry
Potter.
And it seems Daniel Radcliffe's versatility when it comes to dealing with unfamiliar creatures hasn't waned since.
The actor looked delighted when presented with a live penguin to feed by Sir David Attenborough on the Jonathan Ross Show this evening.
Sir David looked on indulgently as the actor presented the bird with a tempting snack.
Not everyone Daniel meets is so comfortable interacting with the star however, and he described one unfortunate incident to Jonathan.
He said: 'They love Potter in Japan. I had my truest Beatle-mania type experience once when I was over there when I was walking through a school corridor.'
'I was visiting a Japanese school for a publicity thing. I brushed a young girl as I was walking past her and I said, "Oh, I’m so sorry." And she fainted.'
Daniel at least took the occurrence in his stride it appears, as he continued: 'I had brushed her and spoken to her and it was too much and she fainted.'
'And you know, you’ve got to enjoy that stuff because that doesn’t last forever. When you have a moment like that you kind of have to take in how cool it is.'

Took it in his stride: Having dealt with animals a great
deal on screen as Harry Potter, and on stage during his Equus tenure, Daniel was
more than comfortable

Helen Mirren Says She’s On For Red 2 Next Year
Submitted by Brendon Connelly on September 25, 2011 – 7:13 am

I can imagine that rounding up ensemble casts for the sequel to a sleeper hit* is a tricky, and expensive business. As Red 2 comes together, Summit will be having hijinks, working out new deals with several stars of the first film, their busy schedules and sharp agents.
It would be inconceivable that they’d proceed without Bruce Willis but, equally essential in my mind, would be Mary Louise Parker and Helen Mirren.
On Mirren’s part, the actress appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show last night and expressed her comittment to the role, saying:
We’re doing Red 2 next year.To the point. But contractually binding? Of course not. Still, it’s the first proper indication I’ve seen of her involvement in the film.
Robert Schwentke, director of part one, is currently shooting R.I.P.D. It’s been assumed that he’ll still be busy with that when Red 2 gets going, but beyong some wish-list mumblings (Breck Eisner, for example) there’s not been any indication of who might direct in Schwentke’s stead.
This new film will have an entirely original storyline, drawn up by Jon and Erich Hoeber, who adapted Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner’s comic for the first picture. I expect they’ll have had some kind of conversation with Ellis, at least at the spitballing stage, though how involved he’d actually want to be is another question altogether.
*Well, ish. It certainly wasn’t a tentpole.
