Kit Harington is no longer clueless.

The Game of Thrones actor revealed on BBC’s The One Show Friday that he bawled as he and his cast mates sat down for a read through of the final episode of the hit HBO show.

“We had a read through last week in fact, so I know everything now,” he said.

While the final episode won’t air until the series comes to an end with the eighth season in 2019, the actor said he couldn’t help but get emotional.

“I cried at the end,” he said. “You have to remember that eight years of it — no one really cares about it more than us.”

SPOILER: The Marvel Cameo in Thor: Ragnarok That You Haven't Heard About Yet

Popsugar October 20, 2017 by RYAN ROSCHKE

Warning: we're about to dish on a major Marvel spoiler in Thor: Ragnarok.

While that other surprise celebrity cameo in Thor: Ragnarok came out of left field, there's one character appearance that makes a whole lot of sense. Early on in the third installment of the standalone Thor films, we check back in with none other than Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Basically, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) go to Earth to find their father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins), whom Loki has left stranded in a human retirement home. Sadly, the human retirement home has been completely demolished. Loki then suddenly vanishes from Thor's side, and only a small card with a Bleecker Street address is left behind. Thor goes to the address to find our mystical brooding doctor, complete with his magical cape.

Doctor Strange's appearance is actually kind of a no-brainer. Their big scene gives us serious déjà vu: Thor across from Doctor Strange, drinking a huge beer stein that never seems to empty, asking about Loki's whereabouts. The reason it feels so familiar is it's pretty much an exact replication of one of the postcredit scenes for the Doctor Strange origin story film. Except this time, we have context.

Is Gorgeous About Tom Hiddleston? Taylor Swift's New Song References "Ocean Blue Eyes" So Many Times

Bustle
Sabienna Bowman

It is a truth universally acknowledged that when Taylor Swift drops a new single, the internet will promptly begin speculating whom the song is about. It happened with the first single she dropped from Reputation, "Look What You Made Me Do," and the interwebs quickly determined the song centered around her infamous VMAs feud with Kanye West. It happened again with her second single, "...Ready For It," which, apparently is about her time dating former One Direction member Harry Styles. So whom is Taylor Swift's "Gorgeous" about? The internet has plenty of hypotheses, but given how many times blue eyes come up, it almost certainly has to be the case that "Gorgeous" is about Tom Hiddleston.

Because Swift has a long and storied history of attributing her former flames (and feuds) as inspiration for her songs, it's no surprise that people are certain that "Gorgeous" is about #Hiddleswift. A few notable examples include, allegedly, Taylor Lautner in "Back to December," Jake Gyllenhaal in "All Too Well," Joe Jonas in "Forever and Always," and the list goes on. And there are even some more obvious mentions. Most likely, "Style" is about Harry Styles, and "Dear John" is about John Mayer. And, come on, "Gorgeous" being about Hiddleston, just makes so much sense.

Laughter on the Orient Express: Judi Dench tells BAZ BAMIGBOYE why she's working with Kenneth Branagh on film adaptation of Agatha Christie classic

Daily Mail
BAZ BAMIGBOYE
Updated October 20, 2017

Judi Dench would like her future contracts to include a clause stipulating that she will refuse to work with grumpy co-stars.

'I don't want to work with anyone who hasn't got a sense of humour,' she insisted, with a hint of merriment behind those blue eyes.

'It's essential! I simply am not interested in working with them if they're miserable by nature.

'It's like the froth on the top of Guinness. You have to have the froth, and then you get to the real thing.

You discover people through larks,' the actress told me, while explaining why she has worked with Kenneth Branagh ten times over the years.

'I always get into trouble with Ken — and I like that!'

The two pillars of the British acting establishment are together again in the Fox 70mm extravaganza of Agatha Christie's Murder On The Orient Express.

Branagh directs, and also plays the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot; while Judi plays the imperious Princess Dragomiroff.

In the film, the Princess arrives with her personal maid (played by Olivia Colman) and two Shih Tzus.

'She's horrible to Olivia. She's a very autocratic princess. So bossy. And Russian. She's just rude; and you wouldn't want to work for her,' Judi said when we met in Soho.

We had the most glorious time,' she said, of her time on set with co-stars Johnny Depp, Derek Jacobi, Penelope Cruz, Daisy Ridley, Josh Gad, Willem Dafoe, Michelle Pfeiffer and dancer Sergei Polunin, as well as newcomers Lucy Boynton and Tom Bateman.

'Not only that: he stayed in the hotel I use when I am up in London. He's ruined my reputation!'One reason why everyone got on so well, she told me, was because filming took place in the interior of a luxury train. 'You had to be part of the company, because nobody could get off!'

David Tennant and Billie Piper explain why they’re returning to Doctor Who

Radio Times
By Huw Fullerton
Thursday, 19th October 2017 at 11:32 am

After years apart, the Doctor and Rose are returning to the Tardis for new intergalactic adventures – but with a bit of a twist. You see, this time the pair (played by David Tennant and Billie Piper) are back in the Doctor Who world thanks to the efforts of long-running audio drama producer Big Finish, who previously brought Tennant back with co-star Catherine Tate (companion Donna Noble) for a series of untold adventures last year and are now doing the same for the Tenth Doctor and his earlier companion.

And while this isn’t the first time the actors have reunited in the Whoniverse since Rose and the Doctor parted ways in 2006 (Rose came back for a few episodes in the 2008 series and in Tennant’s final regular episode in 2010, and Piper starred as The Moment in the 50th anniversary special alongside Tennant’s returning Doctor), it’s still the first time we’ve seen the pair in action for a while – and now they’ve explained what tempted them back into the weird and wonderful world of Who

Depp, Dench and Kenneth Branagh: Behind the scenes of the star-studded Murder on the Orient Express

Telegraph
 Sally Williams
19 OCTOBER 2017 • 7:00AM

Agatha Christie ‘had always been allergic’ to cinema adaptations of her books, her husband Max Mallowan was quoted as saying. ‘She didn’t like her characters to be portrayed on book covers either,’ says James Prichard, her great-grandson.

Christie, who wrote 66 detective novels between 1920 and 1976, translated into around 45 languages, is the most widely read novelist in history, with sales of more than two billion copies worldwide.

There have been 23 film adaptations of her books in the UK alone, not to mention the multiple TV series. And now we have Murder on the Orient Express. Directed by Kenneth Branagh (who also plays Belgian detective Hercule Poirot), it features a parade of towering greats from stage and screen including Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Judi Dench and Derek Jacobi.

The 2017 version, co-produced by Ridley Scott, with a screenplay by Michael Green (the writer of Blade Runner 2049 and Alien: Covenant)  sets up the classic whodunnit with 14 strangers boarding the long-distance  passenger train that connects Istanbul with Paris.

These include Caroline Hubbard, an American widow (Michelle Pfeiffer), the Russian Princess Dragomiroff (Judi Dench) and her maid, Hildegarde Schmidt (Olivia Colman).

A businessman named Ratchett (Johnny Depp) is murdered at night in the compartment next to Poirot. The train gets marooned in an avalanche (a snowdrift in the book) and the plot follows Poirot’s interrogation of each of the passengers in the hunt for the killer.

The appeal of the film is clear: stars are not being asked to play anything run-of-the-mill. They are showcased in sumptuous 1930s glamour, dressing for dinner (even on a train), and the cooks produce delicious  fancies such as walnut soufflés.

‘I liked the sense that I could let the audience escape into that world,’ says Branagh, ‘where the details of what the characters are touching, seeing, eating, drinking, wearing are a significant part of the pleasure.

‘We live in a world where everything is so transient and quick, it  seemed to me a period in which, from a piece of linen to a glass of water to an arrangement of flowers, there could be a way of evoking a parenthesis of calm in an incredibly rushed life.’

An ‘avid reader of crime fiction’, he last read the book years ago, but admits to being surprised when he reread it. ‘I’d forgotten how it worked out! ‘I liked the ensemble [nature] of it,’ he continues, ‘I like it being enclosed in snow, the claustrophobia. And it’s a tale that sums up the golden age of travel: a world in which you feel the miles under your feet.

'It’s like no time has passed at all': Caroline Quentin reflects on reuniting with old friend Martin Clunes for Doc Martin... 19-years after playing on-screen couple in Men Behaving Badly

Mail Online
Jason Chester
October 6, 2017

But while more than 19-years have passed since their much-watched show about the hapless interactions between four thirty-something friends came to an end, Caroline Quentin admits the near-two decade gap was not an issue after reuniting with Clunes on the set of medical drama Doc Martin.

The actress, 57, takes a fleeting role as Angela Sim on the Cornwall based show, which stars Clunes, 55, as the titular Dr. Martin Ellingham, a frequently irked vascular surgeon who trades London life for a remote Cornish village after developing haemophobia – a fear of blood.

‘When I work with Martin it’s like no time has passed at all,’ she explained during an appearance on Monday morning’s edition of Lorraine.

‘There's something about mucking about in an adult environment that's great, and generally annoying everyone around us.’

We're about 40 minutes apart so we see each other all the time,' she explained.

Off-screen, Caroline raises children Emily and William with second husband Sam Farmer - a former runner on BBC show Jonathan Creek, where they met - in rural Devon.

But she believes the modern world, all too often defined by rapidly evolving technology and contrasting ideologies, has increased her responsibilities as a mother.

Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender flash their rings as they arrive at Ibiza airport to jet off for their 'honeymoon'... after the exhausted pair 'partied till 6am during wedding'

By Jabeen Waheed For Mailonline

They tied the knot in a gorgeous 'environmentally-friendly wedding' in Ibiza over the weekend.

And Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender certainly looked ready for some honeymoon downtime as they made a weary appearance at the airport on Tuesday.

Continuing to sport rings on their wedding fingers, the Oscar-winning actress, 29, and the Assassin's Creed actor, 40, looked slightly exhausted ahead of their flight - no doubt, a result of them 'partying until 6am' during their wedding bash.

Emerging from the vehicle, Michael stacked their numerous suitcases, including a large Louis Vuitton one, on the trolley before they proceeded into the airport.

The loved-up pair were joined by Alicia's parents, Maria and Svante Vikander.

Surrounded by their nearest and dearest, both Alicia and Vikander appeared to glow with happiness as they dined at a restaurant on the beach for what looked to be a post-wedding brunch over the weekend.

It was first revealed by The Sun in early September the pair were planning a destination wedding in Ibiza.

'Guests have been told to arrive in Ibiza on a certain date and they will then be collected and taken to the hotel,' a source told the publication at the time.

'He’s splashing out big time and it’s going to be the party of the year.'

The notoriously private couple rarely talk about their relationship,

Interestingly, Lily James will also be in the movie. The 28-year-old actress will be playing a younger version of Meryl Streep's character Donna Sheridan. Her love interest will be new actor, Josh Dylan. Rumour has it, Josh plays a younger version of Bill, a Swedish sailor who could possibly be the father of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried).

Keeley Hawes: Who Are ‘The Durrells In Corfu’? Everything You Need To Know Before Season 2

Decider
By Meghan O'Keefe  @megsokay
Oct 13, 2017 at 3:00pm

I’ve been looking forward to this Sunday for weeks because it’s the Sunday that The Durrells in Corfu Season 2 debuts on PBS. I love The Durrells in Corfu with all my heart and soul — even if my co-workers tease me that when I say its name aloud I sound like I’m gargling salt water. After I binge-watched the whole first season earlier this year, I started telling everyone I could that it’s like Masterpiece‘s version of a smart, heart-warming sitcom like Parks and Recreation.

That’s not as bold a statement as it sounds. Like Parks and Recreation, The Durrells in Corfu is about a central ensemble cast of misfitted people. In this case, though, they aren’t co-workers; They’re family. And as in Parks and Recreation, the action all takes place in a quirky town full of outrageous characters. The “town” in question is the Greek isle of Corfu. The basic gist of the show is this: Harried widow Louisa Durrell (Keeley Hawes) decides to take her four struggling children to Corfu, where the weather’s beautiful and everything is cheap.

Season One saw the family overcoming poverty, language barriers, heartache, and a slapdash appendectomy with lots of wit (and even more wild animals). The first season is just six episodes long, each under an hour in length, and you can binge it on Prime Video ahead of the season season premiere on Sunday, October 15th. But if you don’t have time to catch up, here’s your quick guide to the Durrells themselves.

***WARNING: Spoilers for Season One of The Durrells in Corfu Ahead***

Dominic West films graveyard scenes for fourth season of Showtime's award-winning show The Affair

They explore the emotional effects of extramarital relationships as co-stars on Showtime's hit television show The Affair.

And Joshua Jackson, 39, and Dominic West, 47, were spotted getting right back into the swing of things while filming scenes for the fourth season of the show in New York on Wednesday afternoon.

The actors appeared to be shooting a somber funeral scene in the East Hampton area as Jackson rested against a tombstone.

The actors seemed to be filming in a graveyard and were surrounded by an abundance of greenery, flowers and headstones.

In The Affair, the pair play the significant others of lead characters Noah and Alison (portrayed by British actors Dominic West and Ruth Wilson), who are having an affair.

The Dawsons Creek star took a quick break from filming to grab a light snack as he walked through the set.

Showtime picked up the drama for a fourth season in January, but has yet to share the release date as filming began in early September

Oscar Beat: Best Actor Predictions—It’s Gary Oldman Then Everyone Else

Collider
Adam Chitwood
October 16, 2017

Well folks, it’s that time. I’ve been covering some preliminary buzz and shakeups in this current awards season for the past couple of months, but as we head into November, the race starts taking a much more solid shape and predictions come into play. All this week I’ll be laying out my preliminary predictions for some of the biggest categories, and I’m kicking things off with the Best Actor race—which, actually, of all the major races is maybe the least exciting of all.

Indeed, while previous years saw various actors jockeying for the top position, this one very much seems like it’s Gary Oldman’s to lose. The beloved performer turns in a wholly transformative performance in Joe Wright’s World War II drama Darkest Hour, in which he plays Winston Churchill. Oldman is indeed as good as everyone’s saying, and bolstered by an Anthony McCarten script that gives him multiple explosive speeches—which he subsequently hits out of the park—this is a film chock full of “Oscar clip”-worthy scenes.

But beyond Oldman, it’s really not that competitive of a Best Actor race—this year Best Supporting Actor is where the real fight is. Timothee Chalamet should absolutely be in contention for his star-making turn in Call Me By Your Name, which continues to rack up critical support after first bowing at Sundance earlier this year. It’s a major contender in multiple big categories, and while younger performers don’t usually score Best Actor nominations, if the Academy takes to Call Me By Your Name the way audiences at Sundance, TIFF, and the New York Film Festival did, he should make the cut.

There’s also Jake Gyllenhaal giving one of the best performances of his career in Stronger, although his footing is less solid given that the film seems to have unperformed at the box office and, disappointingly, is at risk of being forgotten come Oscar time. Andrew Garfield could be back in the mix for his impressive turn as a paraplegic in director Andy Serkis’ true-story drama Breathe. That film has some mediocre reviews, which may stand in Garfield’s way, but the guy’s incredibly likeable and does a swell job in the film. And, let’s face it: if he can get nominated for Hacksaw Ridge, a nod for Breathe is entirely possible.

15 Surprising Facts About Tom Hardy

Mental Floss
Jennifer M Wood

You don't have to be a Hollywood insider to know that Tom Hardy is widely considered to be one of the most talented actors of his generation … and that he has a reputation for not always being willing to play by Hollywood’s rules.

Since making his onscreen debut in 2001, the London native has gone on to collaborate with some of the world’s most talented filmmakers, including Ridley Scott, George Miller, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Sofia Coppola, and Christopher Nolan (on three occasions, and counting). He also created, produced, and starred in the FX hit Taboo and earned an Oscar nomination for his role in The Revenant—and all of this before hitting the big 4-0.

1. HE WON A TELEVISION MODELING CONTEST.

Technically, Tom Hardy’s onscreen debut came in 1998, when he took part in a modeling contest on the British morning show The Big Breakfast. Among the facts we learned about the then-21-year-old: He was a drama student who idolized Gary Oldman, liked Eddie Izzard, wanted to write and direct his own short films, and didn’t like football. And yes, he won.

2. HE MADE HIS ONSCREEN DEBUT IN BAND OF BROTHERS.
In September of 1998, shortly after he began attending the Drama Centre London, Hardy dropped out when he was offered a role in the Steven Spielberg-produced WWII miniseries Band of Brothers (2001). When asked about the experience by IGN in 2002, Hardy said that, “Band of Brothers was my first job so I was virtually out of the frying pan and into the fire, really. I'd not had previous experience with working in front of the camera, so there was dealing with that. Also, I had the research material—not that I'd need it. I mean, I was in two episodes and had 12 lines. That was the sum total of work [I] had to do.”

Hardy made his big-screen debut in 2001 as well, playing Twombly in Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down. “I was the Ranger who got left behind,” he told IGN. “He was sort of, if you could call it, comic relief to [a] very precarious situation.”

3. HE WENT TO SCHOOL WITH MICHAEL FASSBENDER.
While attending the Drama Centre London, Hardy looked up to a fellow student who was two years older than him: Michael Fassbender. “He was a really serious method actor and we used to watch him and think, ‘F**k, man! He’s the sh*t!,’” Hardy told The Daily Beast. “He was in an Irish play about this guy who came back from the First World War who was a great athlete but ended up in a wheelchair, but at lunchtime he wouldn’t come out of character and was always in his wheelchair and we’d be like, ‘Dude! Just order your lunch and come along! We’ve got an hour before we have to go back to class! But he was the best actor in the school.” (Fassbender, too, landed a role in Band of Brothers.)

4. HARDY REPLACED FASSBENDER IN TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY.
Though their careers have taken different paths, Hardy and Fassbender overlapped a bit in 2010, when Hardy replaced Fassbender as British operative “Tricky” Ricky Tarr in Tomas Alfredson’s 2011 adaptation of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, a Cold War thriller based on the John le Carré novel.

5. HE IDOLIZES GARY OLDMAN.
That aforementioned modeling contest wouldn’t be the only time Hardy expressed his admiration of Gary Oldman. In 2011, he told ShortList that, “Gary Oldman is my absolute complete and utter hero. He’s the f**king man. I look at him and I want to be like that for my generation—I want to have that same quality. He’s incredible.”

That same year, Hardy got the chance to star alongside Oldman in the Oscar-nominated Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. “There is a definite ‘hang on a minute’ [moment], but I’ve got past the star-struck part now,” Hardy said of getting the chance to act opposite Oldman. They have since worked together on three more films: Lawless (2012), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and Child 44 (2015).

Henry Cavill Talks About Fame's Effect on His Relationships

Just Jared
October 12, 2017

Henry Cavill is opening up about how fame and having devoted fans has affected his relationships.

The 34-year-old Justice League actor, who is currently dating stuntwoman Lucy Cork, told The Rake that he loves his fan-base, but he doesn’t appreciate when they claim ownership over his life. “There is obviously a flip-side to [fame], too: as soon as I get into a relationship, a slew of hate, directed at me as well as the girl, saying that ‘I’ve changed,’” Henry said.

“I haven’t changed a bit. But you have to take all of that in your stride, there are positive and negative parts to all of it, but ultimately it is enormously flattering to have people care that much. As long as it doesn’t hurt anyone in my life, it is a good thing. As soon as it starts to affect people in my life, that’s when I draw back.”
