They both play slightly uptight characters on their respective shows – Sherlock and Downton Abbey.
But it seems in real-life Benedict Cumberbatch and Laura Carmichael are far from boring as they proved when they attended Lady Gaga’s much talked about Roundhouse show in London on Sunday evening.

The actors, who are both the toast of British talent, appeared to really let their hair down as they chatted away at the bar before the Mother Monster took to the stage.

Slipping on a baker boy style cap the famous red-head dressed down in a pair brown trousers with a black zip up cardigan and casual trainers – looking a far cry from the dapper appearances he puts on at events.
Laura meanwhile also looked vastly different to her on stage character Lady Edith – showing off a more relaxed style.

The pretty actress wore a pair of dark blue jeans with a white T-shirt and leather jacket, while her hair was worn loose.

Laura and Benedict clearly get along like a house on fire and they were seen laughing away together as they hung around the bar enjoying a few drinks.

Benedict seemed in a particularly good mood and messed around talking selfies of himself and a friend as Laura stood about laughing.

The Star Trek actor is currently believed to be single. For 12 years, he was in an on-off relationship with actress Olivia Poulet, best known for her role as Tory spin doctor Emma Messinger in BBC sitcom The Thick Of It.



Since the break-up, he has been linked with several high-profile women, including Star Trek co-star Alice Eve and Lord Of The Rings actress Liv Tyler.

They're rumoured to be starring alongside each other in upcoming independent movie Phoenix.

But it seems that Benedict Cumberbatch and Liv Tyler could be more than just co-stars, as the pair were seen enjoying a cinema date in Hollywood on Tuesday night.

The cinema date was not the first time the couple have been seen together.

On Sunday night, they were both spotted at a post-Emmy awards party held at the Sunset Towers hotel.
While they left the event separately, they are though to have been spotted together inside.


It was reported earlier this year that Benedict and Liv are attached to the movie adaptation of Scott Organ's play Phoenix.

Phoenix tells the story of a couple who have to deal with the circumstances following a one-night stand.

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch and The Incredible Hulk beauty Liv Tyler were spotted catching a movie together Tuesday night in Los Angeles. Which can only mean one thing: Time to crank up those romance rumors!

The two swung by ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood and discreetly kept some distance from each other as they exited the theater together.

Liv Tyler disappointed at The Hobbit rejection

 

Lord Of The Rings actress, Liv Tyler, has revealed how she is very disappointed at the fact that she was not asked to return to the role of the Elf maiden Arwen Undómiel, for the prequel The Hobbit. Liv admitted that she would have loved to have taken her son to New Zealand while filming the movies.

Tyler explained, "I'm definitely not in The Hobbit and I actually don't know anything about it. I realised I need to call my friends in New Zealand to ask them what's going on so I have some facts when I get asked questions about it." She then revealed how she was disappointed at not getting to be in The Hobbit. Liv added, "Kind of secretly, maybe desperate is the wrong word to use. I would love to go back there and bring my son to New Zealand and see all those amazing people. It was such a magical experience."

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will see the return of other Lord Of The Rings actors, including Orlando Bloom, who played Legolas and Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins. The Hobbit: An Expected Journey is set to be released on December 14, 2012, while The Hobbit: There and Back Again will be released on December 13, 2013.

The 'Real Steel' actress shares that she has done some painful training sessions in preparation to play Tauriel in the much awaited movie, 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey'.

Evangeline Lilly recently shared about playing newly created character, Woodland Elf Tauriel, in her upcoming movie "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". The Canadian actress, who has just given birth to her first child Norman Kali last May, gushed that she has done various painful training sessions for the role, like practicing "Elf fighting".

Talking to MTV at the premiere of "Real Steel" in L.A. on Sunday, October 2, Lilly revealed, "Elf fighting, let me just say something, recovering from labor is like recovering from a full-body injury, and I didn't realize to what extent that was true until I started training for elf fighting." She added, "My hips don't move like they used to move, my back doesn't move like it used to move, my shoulders are sore every day. But it's fun."

The former "Lost" star also gushed about how she feels for playing in the film which cast ensemble is dominated by males. "It's kind of, like, my M.O.," she said before adding, " 'Lost' was a boys club, 'The Hurt Locker' was a boys club, ['Real Steel'] was a boys club, and now 'The Hobbit' is a boys club. So I'm used to it... It's really chilled out and relaxed, and everyone is really down to earth and supportive."

Talking about the other female stars in "The Hobbit", Cate Blanchett and Liv Tyler, Lilly said, "I would love to talk to those women, and they're two women who I deeply admire. Cate Blanchett is in this film, and I missed her; we didn't cross paths. She was filming before I got there and was gone by the time I arrived." She added, "But the good thing is, I tried not to copy their performances. I really wanted to have something original, so I intentionally didn't go back and watch 'Rings' for that reason. I just want to create something new."

In another interview with Access Hollywood, Lilly admitted that she has learned Elvish dialect to play Tauriel. When she was asked about plot details of the much awaited movie, she replied, "My Elvish could tell you what the story is. I can't tell you what the story is [in English]."

Currently filming in New Zealand, "The Hobbit" centers on Bilbo Baggins and Thorin Oakenshield, along with the twelve dwarves, who embark on an epic adventure to the Lonely Mountain to reclaim a lost treasure that was stolen by the dragon Smaug.

Directed by "Lord of the Rings" helmer Peter Jackson, the anticipated movie also stars Martin Freeman as Bilbo and Richard Armitage as his trusted companion Thorin. Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom are additionally supporting the cast ensemble. The film is set to hit U.S. theaters on December 14, 2012, while its sequel "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" will be released on December 13, 2013.

It's not uncommon for a male star to let his wife steal his thunder on the red carpet.

But there was an air of déjà vu as all eyes fixed on Colin Firth wife's Livia Giuggioli tonight.

The couple looked typically photo-preened at the premiere of his latest film Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy - but it seems Livia has pinched some style tips from fashion icon Kate Winslet and some other famous faces.

Look familiar: Kate Winslet wore the Stella McCartney design back in March following the premiere of her HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce

The Italian film producer, who married Firth in 1997, sported an identical Stella McCartney dress that the Titanic actress wore in March.


And it's easy to see why it caught her eye, as the flattering black frock cloaked her delicate frame in all the right places, adding a quirky touch with polka dots spotted down the left side of the arm and body.

Winslet, who at 35 is six years younger than Giuggioli, first stepped out in the creation at the aftershow for her Mildred Pierce premiere.

Looking every inch the A-lister, the Oscar-winner oozed sex appeal and old school glamour at the Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel in New York.

But back to the main attraction Colin, he stars in the thriller directed by Tomas Alfredson - best known for vampire thriller Let The Right One In.

The film is based on the 1974 novel of the same name by John le Carré.

Set in London in the 1970s, it tells the tale of the hunt for a Soviet double agent at the top of the British secret service.

The star-studded cast also boasts Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, John Hurt, Mark Strong and Benedict Cumberbatch.
