TOM HIDDLESTON THANKS LIAM PAYNE IN HIS MTV MOVIE AWARDS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH - WATCH 16 Apr 13By: Lizzie Cox (SUGARSCAPE)

Loki

Tom Hiddleston was doing his acceptance thang onstage after winning the 'Best Villain' award for his role as Loki in Avengers Assemble, when he veered away from the usual mentions of 'My manager, my mum, my wife, God' to thank Liam. “I need to thank Liam Payne from One Direction, who I believe has called his dog Loki," he said. “Now, Liam's dog Loki is unquestionably better looking and certainly better bred - and probably better known.” He added: “It's probably got more Twitter followers than I do. So, they don't know who Liam Payne's dog is in Asgard, but It's all about spreading the love."

Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and Seth MacFarlane's Ted lead this year's nominations for the MTV Movie Awards 2013, with seven nods apiece, including the coveted prize for Movie of the Year.

Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar-winning role in Silver Linings Playbook has also been recognized  with the actress receiving nods for Best Kiss, Best Musical Moment, Best On-Screen Duo with Bradley Cooper and Best Scared-As-S**t Performance for House at the End of the Street.

But rivaling her in that final category - that's Best Scared-As-S**t Performance - is Sherlock's very own Martin Freeman, who has picked up a nomination for his portrayal of Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It's the only category the film is listed for.

Other notable nominees are British actor Eddie Redmayne, who has been recognized for his Best Breakthrough Performance in Les Misérables. He will compete against nine-year-old Beasts of the Southern Wild actress Quevenzhané Wallis, Life of Pi's Suraj Sharma and Rebel Wilson.

Christian Bale Gets Emotional Seeing Heath Ledger In 'Dark Knight' Montage By John Mitchell (MTV)

The cast of "The Dark Knight Rises" took the stage at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards to introduce an exclusive clip from the hotly anticipated summer blockbuster, but things took an unexpectedly emotional turn following a montage of director Christopher Nolan's first two "Batman" films, which included scenes of the late Heath Ledger's iconic performance as the Joker in "The Dark Knight."

At the clip's conclusion, Christian Bale, flanked by his co-stars Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, stepped up to the mic and said, "Wow, great to remember Heath at that moment. Wonderful to see Heath Ledger there."

The Oscar-winning actor then lowered his head and appeared to get choked up as the audience applauded for Ledger, who died in January 2008 at age 28 from an acute intoxication from the combined effects of several prescription medications. A few months after his passing, "The Dark Knight" arrived in theaters to critical acclaim and enormous box-office success.
