THE INDEPENDENT

THURSDAY 03 OCTOBER 2013

Doctor Who star David Tennant is due to star in the US version of Broadchurch.

The actor, who played DI Alec Harding in ITV’s Broadchurch earlier this year, is set to appear in the US adaptation being made for Fox.

According to Variety, Tennant will portray a similar character to DI Harding, an American detective who will lead the investigation on a case of a shocking murder that puts a town under scrutiny.

The Scottish actor has previously adopted an American accent when he starred in US legal drama Rex is Not Your Lawyer, but the show did not get commissioned past its pilot stage.

Fox announced it would be producing a US version of the Broadchurch in August. Filming is due to begin in January, with the series set to air at the end of 2014.

Here is David's American accent -

Ewan McGregor Wears Kilt to Receive Order of British Empire, Would Be "Up for" Role in Porno (E!) by Rebecca Macatee

 Ewan McGregor, Eve Mavrakis

Ewan McGregor was honored Friday at Buckingham Palace with an OBE (Order of the British Empire) for his contributions to film and charity.

A place on Queen Elizabeth II's honors list is very highbrow, so the 42-year-old Star Wars hunk telling reporters he'd be up for a role in Porno seemed a bit odd. But that doesn't mean quite what you think…

McGregor starred in 1996's Trainspotting, the Danny Boyle-helmed film based on Irvine Welsh's novel of the same name. Boyle has recently spoken about making a sequel to the famed flick, based on Irvine's book Porno, and McGregor is interested, to say the least.

"I have not been approached officially, but I would be up for it and there has been talk about it happening in 2016, 20 years after we did Trainspotting," he told reporters, per the Herald Scotland. "The sequel is called Porno, so I have to be careful about saying I am doing Porno in 2016."

Clearly, though, McGregor values the films—and traditions—of his past. The Scottish actor wore a red-and-green-tartan kilt, paired with knee socks and a tie and jacket.

"I didn't have to think about it, that was always what I was going to wear," he said. "If you don't wear your kilt here, I don't know where you are going to wear it."

Gerard Butler Lives In This Ridiculously Romantic $3 Million L.A. Mansion (CELEBUZZ)

Gerard Butler's Romantic Mansion

POSTED 11 HOURS AGO   •   BY ANDREA SIMPSON

It’s always good to be Gerard Butler when you’ve got the handsome, bad boy, action star thing going (oh, and the Scottish accent is a bonus). But when you have digs like this, it’s really good.
The ruggedly handsome actor bought this stunning Spanish-style villa in the celeb-rich enclave of Los Feliz, Calif. in 2008 for hefty $3.25 million (just slightly below the asking price of $3.395M.)

And who knew the Olympus Has Fallen star was such a romantic. The circa 1930 6,250 square foot estate was completely redone and spared no expense when it came to the delicate details.

From the walnut floors, living room with fireplace, large formal dining room, Butler's grand oasis has a rustic, private ambience tucked away on the hillside and surrounded by lush greenery (just look in envy at that enchanting courtyard.)

Watch: Gerard Butler Is ‘Kicking A**’ The popular Scottish actor swung by Celebuzz's LA studio to dish on what it was like to play a Secret Service agent.

On March 22, Gerard Butler returns to the big screen in the action-packed drama Olympus Has Fallen, in which he plays a disgraced Secret Service agent called to duty again when the White House is infiltrated by North Korean terrorists.

The film mixes all of the elements of a good ol’ fashioned time at the movies — which is exactly how Butler described it when he stopped by the Celebuzz studio earlier this week.

“When [my character] gets in there, you want to see him kick some ass — and he does that,” the hunky Scottish actor, 43, revealed. “And there are a lot of funny moments. There’s definitely some cheering and laughing in the movie, as well.”

Gerard Butler opens up about new romance (SF GATE)

Scottish movie star Gerard Butler has opened up about his relationship with Romanian model/actress Madalina Ghenea, insisting he is “happier and calmer” since they started dating.

The “300″ hunk fell for the European beauty when she was hired to help him promote a new razor for the Dubai-based Super Max brand last year, and the couple was first rumoured to be romantically involved in May.

Ghenea played down the claims at the time, stating, “Gerard is a friend of mine. We are friends and nothing more” – but Butler has now openly gushed about the beauty.
