Actor Martin Clunes star guest at Weldmar Summer Fete

ACTOR Martin Clunes made this year’s Weldmar Summer Fete a special day out.

Thousands of people flocked to catch a glimpse of the star, who spent time chatting to crowds, signing autographs and posing for photos.

The annual fete, which took place at the Joseph Weld Hospice, proved to be ‘bigger and better’ than ever before.

It included bumper stalls, attractions, a free car park, a silent auction and static displays from ‘vehicles of yesteryear’, Goldwings Motorbikes, steam engines and the Wessex Kit car club.

Money raised, which includes the £1 adult entry fee, will go towards the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

The ‘Doc Martin’ celebrity said: “Thanks for coming to one of the two great days in Dorset countryside entertainments.

“I am sure many of you also came to Buckham Fair, all in aid of Weldmar.

“It gives me enormous pleasure to inform you that Buckham Fair raised a total of £66,000 for Weldmar with all the help of the Dorset people coming along.”

More than 130 volunteers rallied together to put on the event, which was sponsored by The Commercial Law Practice.

Crowds gathered to watch dance performances, live music and displays of parkour and freerunning.

While we admire their dedication, sometimes hardcore fans can be a little overwhelming.

For example, over 93,000 Batman fans who feel Ben Affleck is the wrong man to play Bruce Wayne have signed a Change.org petition to remove him from the role.

And Tom Hiddleston has said he's "flattered and amazed" by a group of Hiddlestoners who have decided he deserves his own solo superhero movie.

Saddened that Hiddleston won't appear in Joss Whedon's Avengers follow-up, and clearly concerned that we might never see Loki again, the fans have collected over 22,000 signatures petitioning Marvel for the God of Mischief to star in his own story on the big screen, steadily working toward their goal of 30,000.

But are Hiddlestoners the most dedicated fan base of them all? Let's see...

What's it all about?
Dedicated and determined, Tom Hiddleston obsessives are pretty hardcore in their love for the actor. After piquing their interest in Marvel's 2011 superhero epic, Thor, Hiddleston further seduced his legion of fans when he reprised the role of Loki in Joss Whedon's wildly successful team-up, Avengers Assemble.

But more than the standard group of swooning teenagers, Loki's Army have used their force for more than simply penning fanfic and stalking Hiddles on Twitter. One gang, Hiddlestoners Have Hearts, have even raised thousands of pounds for UNICEF in his name.

It's a dream many can understand, albeit one the man himself seems to be a bit embarrassed by, but for most of them a dream it will remain. Luckily for them, he ain't going nowhere.

It’s hard to believe that Madalina Ghenea is engaged, and until an official statement we should take all this with a grain of salt.

Especially as the 25-year-old model has expressed on numerous occasions how she feels about Gerard Butler, calling him her “first true love,” while the Scottish actor named her “the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”

Back in August Madalina Ghenea explained why her boyfriend Gerard Butler didn’t attended her brother’s wedding, saying that it would have turned into an event dedicated to him.

“Of course it would have become an event dedicated to him, and not my brother, and we want to enjoy this wedding within the family,” Ghenea declared at that time.

Now, the Italian website gentevip.it claims that Madalina Ghenea and Marco Borriello, a professional soccer player for Italian football club AS Roma, were seen kissing during a holiday in Ibiza.

The same website posted a headline that reads: “Madalina Ghenea and Marco Borriello are engaged?”

Moreover, it is speculated that the AS Roma footballer has the number 88 imprinted on his shirt, symbolizing Madalina’s birth dat

OTTAWA—British filmmaker Steve McQueen’s “12 Years a Slave” won the audience prize for best picture at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday.

The film, already generating Oscars buzz, is based on a firsthand account of Solomon Northup, a free black man from upstate New York who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in 1841, recalling the horrors of grueling labor, daily humiliation and families torn apart.

Its premiere in Toronto last week received a standing ovation, as well as sobs, while some in the audience left early over the film’s graphic portrayal of unspeakable torture of slaves during this period in history.

The story is “a gift from the past to open a discussion, not about race, particularly, but about human dignity and our freedoms and what we most require in the world,” said actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays Northup.

“And the only way to really open that discussion is to see all sides of it.”

The film also stars Michael Fassbender as a cruel plantation owner, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Garret Dillahunt, Paul Giamatti, Scoot McNairy, Lupita Nyong’o, Adepero Oduye, Sarah Paulson, Brad Pitt, Michael Kenneth Williams and Alfre Woodard.

Tom Hardy - the next Bond?

The 'Dark Knight Rises' star is reportedly at the top of the list to take over from the 'Skyfall' actor once his time as the fictional British spy comes to an end after his next two films.

An insider told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "Although Craig is signed up for the next two Bond films the search for his replacement is already on.

"Tom is right at the top of the wish list. He's been approached to gauge his interest and he's keen."
