‘THE SIMPSONS’ PICKS UP ‘SHERLOCK’ STAR BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH by: Kevin Fitzpatrick Yesterday (SCREEN CRUSH)



For anyone who’s caught the first two series of Steven Moffat’s BBC adaption ‘Sherlock,’ it doesnt take a detective to pick out the show’s popularity.  Not only has star Benedict Cumberbatch achieved international acclaim as a modern-day version of the famous super-sleuth, but will soon tear his way across screens in ‘Star Trek 2.’  Now ‘The Simpsons‘ have picked up the UK star, but what will the series see him play?

Den of Geek is reporting that ‘Sherlock’ and ‘Star Trek 2′ star Benedict Cumberbatch has secured a guest appearance on ‘The Simpsons,’ for an unknown future airing.  Cumberbatch joins the ranks of such acclaimed UK stars to lend their voices to ‘The Simpsons’ as Ricky Gervais, Tony Blair, Tom Jones, Eric Idle, Jeremy Irons and more.
