English stuntman/actor Andrew Lawden, who currently works for Marvel, has revealed a big batch of story details for the film while appearing on a recent radio show:

"Thor becomes reunited with Jane who becomes possessed by a Dark Spirit, which is connected with the Dark Elves; a race the Asgardians have fallen out with many years beforehand [...] The Dark Elves attack Asgard, and they take a huge hit. So Thor has to rebuild Asgard by putting together an army to go and take the battle to the Dark Elves and defeat them. But the only way he can do this is – he needs to cross over to the Dark World, and the only person who has access to the dark side of Asgard is his old brother Loki, who at the beginning of the film is locked up in prison.

Ray Stevenson, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston: Returning in Thor 2 (COSMIC BOOK NEWS)

We learn that the majority of filming for Thor 2 will take place in London, with some shooting in Los Angeles.

Extras, photo-doubles and stand-ins are required for both locations with Thor 2 to begin shooting in London, Summer of 2012.

We see the returning actors include: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson Tadanobu Asano, Jaime Alexander, Joshua Dallas and Rene Russo. A description of the story/plot is also given: The plot will take Thor literally to other worlds. It will be primarily the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds.
