TOM HIDDLESTON WINS 2013 CELEB OF THE YEAR: HIS 13 BEST MOMENTS FROM THE PAST YEAR

BUSTLE
By Martha Sorren
December 31, 2013

Tom Hiddleston is poised to win this year’s E! Online ‘Celeb of the Year’ contest. The winner will be announced tonight after he and competition Ian Somerhalder went head-to-head in a poll earlier this week. Hiddleston totally deserves to win after the year he’s had touring the world to promote Thor 2: The Dark World and making press stops look like the most fun in the world. Thank goodness he was Marvel’s PR monkey though, because that means we got a lot of Tom in 2013. Needless to say it was hard to choose just his top 13 moments, but I gave it a shot.

1. DANCING AND KNOCKING THINGS OVER
I could make a whole post just about best times Tom Hiddleston’s danced (hint: the answer is all the times), but I’ve chosen to focus on when he dances and it just so uncontrollably excited that he isn’t responsible for the damages he inflicts on inanimate objects. On the Asia leg of his tour he first introduced his moves to us and we felt like the chair he kicked over. But in a good way. We felt kicked over with delight.

2. THE SLUMBER PARTY
Hiddles in pajamas sitting on a bed talking about the time he saw Chris Hemsworth naked and introducing the Snake Hips dance move to us? Yes please.

3. THAT TIME HE CRASHED COMIC CON
In full on Loki gear and then proceeded to give everyone in the room orders which they all obeyed because obviously.

4. HIS STINT ON KOREAN SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
I don’t know how they convinced him to do some of the sketches in this, but I’m glad they did because now we have an old woman titty-twisting Tom for posterity.

5. THAT TIME HE SURPRISED UNDERPRIVILEGED KIDS WITH A THOR 2 SCREENING
Because he’s amazingly nice, he took time out of his schedule to throw a surprise screening of Thor 2 for some of New York City’s underprivileged children. They thought they were just lucky enough to see the movie, but also got to meet Hiddleston. “Oh my God, I screamed for my life,” 13-year-old Bryonnah Justinian said of the moment Hiddleston stepped onto the stage. But the best part about the actor is that it wasn’t even a chore for him. He said, “There are armies of people behind the scenes who do tireless work on behalf of children all over the world. So it’s nothing for me to turn up and introduce a screening for them.”

6. LOKI ARGUES WITH KIDS
Further proving that he’d be about the best dad ever, Hiddleston booked another gig with some kids to promote the movie. In the skit he argues with a bunch of children about why Loki is better than Thor. It’s truly precious.

Zach Galifianakis plays 'Game of Game of Thrones' on 'SNL' Aaron Couch (The Hollywood Reporter)

After the total misfire that was Vince Vaughn’s episode, "Saturday Night Live" was back in fantastic form with host Zach Galifianakisthis week. The actor played a role in nearly every comedic segment, and we think Galifianakis trails only Justin Timberlake as the best host of the season. Galifianakis wore a number of hilarious costumes throughout the night, starting with a dragon suit to play Game of Game of Thrones, a Jeopardy!-style quiz show testing contestants on all things George R. R. Martin.

SNL - MORE HOBBIT MOVIES!!!!! (SCREEN CRUSH)

NBC
Welcome back, SNL! Everyone’s simultaneously beloved and hated live sketch comedy show returned last night after its holiday break and, naturally, they had to play catch-up, making fun of everything that they missed in the past couple of weeks. First on their list? ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.’ Or rather, its eighteen sequels.

SNL: MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM MARTIN SHORT AND PAUL MCCARTNEY (SCREEN CRUSH)

by Jacob Hall Yesterday

Martin Short is a sketch comedy veteran, more comfortable on the Saturday Night Live stage than many of the actual cast members. Paul McCartney has been a guest on the show many times and seems to have little-to-no shame. Putting them together for a Christmas-themed sketch that segues directly into a musical performance was the highlight of last night’s episode.

Downton Abbey on Spike TV (the video has been locked down by NBC the bums)(LA Times)

'SNL' knows that even macho dudes love 'Downton Abbey' [video]

Downton abbey saturday night live spike skit
We already know that "Downton Abbey" has won over a far wider audience than the usual PBS "Masterpiece" fare. But this weekend, a "Saturday Night Live" skit mocked Downton-mania by imagining a crossover between fans of Lord Grantham and the cars, tattoos and extreme sports-loving young male Spike TV viewer.

The spoof "Downton" ad featured the Spike narrator explaining the premise for dudes: "They've got three daughters named Hot, Way Hot and The Other One." He goes on to describe the beloved, sharp-tongued dowager played by Maggie Smith as an "old lady who looks like a chicken. We hated her at first but then we got high and she made us crack up."

What about the servants? They're "a bunch of tuxedo'd people who live in the basement and their lives suck!"

Daniel Radcliffe 'SNL' promo: Sex wizards and American accents - video (Digital Spy)

Published Wednesday, Jan 11 2012, 10:03am EST | By Lara Martin | Add comment
Daniel Radcliffe has marked his upcoming guest hosting stint on Saturday Night Live by appearing alongside cast member Jason Sudeikis in a new promo for the show.

Watch the promo below:

The video clip opens with Sudeikis poking fun at Radcliffe's British accent as the Harry Potter star attempts to introduce the episode, which will also feature musical guest Lana Del Ray.

"What is that you're doing with your voice?" asks Sudeikis. "Are you doing a character? Like a chimney sweep or something? Are you doing Winslet? What are you doing?"

He later encourages Radcliffe to attempt an American accent, although brands Radcliffe's choice of phrase - "What up, dude, give me some hamburgers and pizza!" - as stereotypical.

Also in the promo Sudeikis is seen quizzing Radcliffe - who he calls "magic guy" - on the Harry Potter franchise, mistakenly thinking it's about sex rather than magic.

Radcliffe, who can be seen in the upcoming Woman In Black, recently said that it was a "no-brainer" accepting the offer to guest host the show and that he is "very excited" about the challenge.

"It will be the kind of stuff I like, that kind of guerrilla style of getting stuff done when you just have to get it done," he said. "Nothing else matters. You have to do it. You have to achieve. By the end of the week, you're going to be putting on an hour-and-a-half music-and-comedy show from scratch."

Saturday Night Live with Daniel Radcliffe and Lana Del Ray airs Saturday, January 14 at 11.30/10.30c on NBC

Daniel Radcliffe Hosting Saturday Night Live In January (Inquisitr)

Harry Potter megastar Daniel Radcliffe has announced plans to host Saturday Night Live on January 14, allowing him to start his new year with the type of acting fervor he ended 2011 with.
Aside from the final Harry Potter and the Death Hallows film Radcliffe also took the the Broadway stage in ”How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying.”

During his January 14 hosting gig Radcliffe will be joined by musical guest Lana Del Rey.
If you simply can’t get enough or Mr. Potter you’ll also be able to catch him in the 2012 film “The Woman in Black.”

As if that isn’t enough praise for Radcliffe he was also recently named Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly and over the last decade he has constantly topped the list of highest paid actors thanks to his massive payouts from the Harry Potter franchise.

If you’re more of the sports fan type you can also tune in one week earlier when former NBA star Charles Barkley will take on hosting duties with Kelly Clarkson in the guest musician spot.

Beatles would have reunited had all members been alive: Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has admitted that The Beatles would have reunited had all the members still been alive.

The 69-year-old singer-composer has revealed that he was the one who had tried to keep the band together and wanted them to perform “for ever”.

“If John and George were still here it’s highly likely we would’ve had a Beatles reunion. I think we would’ve mellowed to the point where we would’ve said, ‘Come on, let’s do it,” The Daily Express quoted him as saying.

“The thing was whenever we got together, no matter if we were arguing, we played great. We knew each other so well; we read each other. So if Ringo would speed up a little bit, we all would speed up. So we were like hands in a glove,” he added.
The legend further revealed that he and Lennon were on the verge of making a high-profile comeback in public in 1976 after US TV producer Lorne Michaels offered $3,000 for them to reunite on comedy show Saturday Night Live.
“I was at John’s place and Saturday Night Live was on and John said to me, ‘Have you seen this?’ I hadn’t, I was living in England, he was living in America. He said, ‘No, they’re offering us money to get back together - Lorne Michaels came on the show last week.”

“And John said, ‘We should go down, just you and me. We’ll just show up. There’s only two of us, we’ll take half the money’. For a second we were like, ‘Shall we do it?’ I don’t know what stopped us. It would’ve been work and we were having a night off so we elected to not go to work,” he added.
Paul also admitted that the break-up of the band hit him hard and recording his debut solo album “saved him”.
