Tom Hiddleston reveals character in Crimson Peak, Loki's role in Thor 3; Actor in casual terms with Elizabeth Olsen

VENTURE CAPITAL

Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston is engaged in a lot of projects right now. He is currently doing Crimson Peak and will start filming Thor 3: Ragnarok Film in the coming days. This favorite villain may confirm what is eating much of his time but not Elizabeth Olsen.

First on his plate is his soon to release movie Crimson Peak. This new film Guillermo Del Toro is a gothic romance in which people can expect the film to be kinky and shocking- as Del Toro puts it. Tom Hiddleston plays the character of Sir Thomas Sharpe whom Hiddleston called the antihero.
Tom described further Sir Thomas Sharpe as "the most morally ambiguous or complex figure in the story, because ... he's genuinely caught in-between people and in-between conflicting emotions and is trying to find the best route through a very, very, difficult tangle of what people need from him and want from him and what he feels is his responsibility to those people" when he was interviewed by Collider. Prior to filming, Tom Hiddleston got so busy studying the 10 pages biography that Director Del Toro gave his actors in preparation for their characters.

As for Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Hiddleston is not ditching Elizabeth because as of press time no one could really prove that the two are seriously hooking up as reported by Youth Health. Just like everyone already knew, the two were just casual and were keeping in touch when not together because the two have been doing a project of Hank Williams' "I Saw The Light". Tom is still very much in the list of the most Eligible Bachelor though rumors about him being link to his co-stars in the film circulate in the internet.

Crimson Peak is scheduled to be in Theaters this October 2015 but as for "I Saw The Light" there has no specific schedule to date.

Tom Hiddleston Takes Acting Very Seriously & 9 Other Things His Nuffield Theater Q&A Teaches Us

While everyone in America celebrated the Oscars on Sunday, the film industry’s sweetheart Tom Hiddleston was doing a Q&A at the Nuffield Theatre in England. The small event was for members of the theater, (who can congratulate themselves on scoring quite a few fangirls as patrons, now) and was dedicated to hearing Hiddleston’s thoughts on acting, theater, and the arts in general.

I’ve always known Hiddleston loved all aspects of acting, but this Q&A really highlighted that enthusiasm. Although the event was closed to cameras or recording devices, thanks to several Hiddlestoners who attended, fans can read re-caps of the questions asked and what Hiddleston had to say about the arts. (And even without video of the event, all this is right in line with his general attitude towards taking acting seriously.) “Tom is seriously passionate [about] acting,” one attendee told me.

In fact, Hiddleston divulged that he initially joined the industry because it had essentially overtaken his life. “I slowly realized it had begun to take up all of my time,” he told the crowd. Although he focused on acting for the most part, Hiddleston also threw some feminism in there, referencing Emma Watson’s HeForShe campaign and reportedly saying, “Women and men should be allowed to be whoever they are without restriction.”

And as if that wasn’t wonderful enough, according to fans who were there, here is exactly how dedicated to the theater arts Hiddleston is.

He Doesn’t Drink at the Theater

According to Tumblr user l0kilee, who wrote an in-depth recap of the event, Hiddleston doesn’t get why some playhouses serve alcohol. “I never understood wanting to be in a lesser state of awareness in a theatre,” he said.

Truth is the Lifeblood of Acting

L0kilee revealed that Hiddleston found it hard to identify with Hank Williams for I Saw the Light, because Hiddleston couldn’t relate to Williams’ alcoholism. “I love my life too much,” Hiddleston said of why it was difficult to understand putting himself in that situation.

He’s Not a Method Actor

Hiddleston says he doesn’t subscribe to that idea because director feedback is too important for him to stay completely in character. But Tumblr user HiddleMemes says Hiddleston admitted he sometimes stays in his character’s voice between takes.

Happy Birthday, Tom Hiddleston! Here's Where Fans Of the British Heartthrob Can Catch Him This Coming Year

no title

Ah, a beautiful day is upon us: Tom Hiddleston’ birthday is here. It’s hardly like we ever pass up an opportunity to talk about the classically trained actor’s best attributes, but clearly we should spend some time especially dwelling in it on his birthday. It has, after all, been a relatively quiet year on the Hiddleston front — we got Thor: The Dark World in November 2013, and we got Only Lovers Left Alive that year, too; but we only got a Muppets Most Wanted cameo and The Pirate Fairy in 2014. Never fear, though, Hiddlestonians: Hiddleston’s got quite the slate lined up for us in the coming year and beyond.

For real, though: 2015 is going to be a mighty busy year for Hiddleston. From a return visit to the Avengers and a pretty big biopic, to an American television debut and a Guillermo Del Toro movie, the newly minted 34-year-old has a lot on his plate. Luckily for all of us it’s a pretty juicy plate — there’s a lot to bite into.

Here’s what you can look forward to in the realm of the Hiddles in the coming year and beyond:

Avengers: Age Of Ultron

This one was supposed to be kept a secret, considering all that previous talk of Hiddleston very much not being in another Avengers movie. But Idris Elba spilled the beans, much to Joss Whedon’s consternation, and both Elba and Hiddles will be making visits from Asgard in Age Of Ultron, even if only for a brief scene.

High-Rise

Hiddleston will be going from Asgard to a high-rise building that goes completely bonkers. He plays Dr. Robert Laing, and according to Empire and io9 he will be participating as this building turns into a “bacchanalian den of iniquity.” Damn, sign me up.

Tom Hiddleston Will Rule the Big Screen in 2015

MOVIES CHEAT SHEET
Michelle Regalado
January 4, 2015

Tom Hiddleston may currently be best known for his turn as a fan favorite villain from Marvel’s Thor series, but that’s all set to change over the course of the next year. Judging from the wide-ranging list of projects the actor is scheduled to take on in the coming months, it looks as if Hiddleston is about to rule 2015 the same way that many proclaimed fellow British actor Benedict Cumberbatch owned 2014.

As of now, Hiddleston has four movies set to hit the big screen in 2015, which span the genres — from biographical to horror. By far, the most well-known and highly anticipated of these projects is a little film called Avengers: Age of Ultron. The sequel to the hugely successful superhero franchise will feature the actor reprising his famous role as Thor’s evil brother, Loki, alongside other returning cast members Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson, among others. Though the blockbuster isn’t set to hit theaters until May, fans have been eagerly poring over details regarding the film’s plot and cast for months now, with excitement reaching a particular high after this summer’s Comic Con.3

While Age of Ultron will be the actor’s biggest movie to soon hit the screen, Hiddleston will also be moving well beyond the superhero role he’s most known for in the next year. Following the release of the Avengers sequel, the actor is also set to star in the forthcoming horror flick Crimson Peak, currently scheduled for release on October 16. While not as high-profile as the former, Crimson Peak has drawn public interest for its high-quality cast and creative team.3

Directed and written by prolific filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro, the project is set in a crumbling mansion in a rural region of northern England in the 19th century. Hiddleston stars as Sir Thomas Sharpe, the charming new husband to young author Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) who turns out not to be whom he appears to be. Jessica Chastain and Charlie Hunnam also co-star.What do you think?

Another Hiddleston project drawing plenty of attention? The upcoming biopic, I Saw the Light, which is set to hit theaters sometime in 2015. The actor will be playing the titular role in the film, based on the 1994 book Hank Williams: The Biography, and he’s already started preparing. Hiddleston made headlines earlier this month for covering two different Williams’ songs during a surprise performance at Michigan’s Wheatland Music Festival. The resulting footage quickly went viral, and though there wasn’t enough to tell if he’d be able to do the country star justice, it was certainly enough to stir up all kinds of buzz for the film, which co-stars Elizabeth Olsen as Williams’s wife, Audrey Mae.

Tom Hiddleston Is All Smiles As He Wears Cowboy Boots At LAX

Hey look guys! Instead of getting Tom Hiddleston photos for my birthday, I got them as a Hanukkah present! Yay!

The magical Mr. Hiddleston was spotted arriving in Los Angeles last night after spending the past few months filming the Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light in Nashville Shreveport. Hence the cowboy boots and guitar. And if you’ll recall Nashville was were Tom was filmed singing Christmas carols.

So…how do we all feel about cowboy-booted Tom?

Tom Hiddleston In 'I Saw the Light' & 9 Other Times He Totally Transformed for a Role — PHOTOS

There’s nothing better than when actors take selfies while on set so we can see them in their costumes. Thanks to I Saw the Light co-stars Josh Pais and Elliott Grey, we get to see Tom Hiddleston in his full on Hank Williams attire, 1950s suit and all. But Hiddleston is no stranger to transforming for his roles. He even once said, “I’m actually a terrible actor, I just dye my hair a lot.”

While the terrible actor part couldn’t be further from the truth, he does dye his hair a lot. He’ll be dark-haired for Loki and then switch to red for The Hollow Crown and then go back to his natural blond for Coriolanus. He basically looks different in every film he’s in, and I think that’s kind of cool — he’s never playing the same sort of role.

Even when he’s portraying Loki repeatedly in Marvel sequels, Hiddleston brings a new look to the table each time. As an actor I think it’s imperative that you be able to completely transform for your role so you don’t end up like, say, Nicholas Cage, just playing yourself in every movie.

Thankfully that’s not Hiddleston’s lot in life, and so here are 10 times he totally transformed for a role.

DID TOM HIDDLESTON GET MARRIED IN SECRET? HE'S WEARING A RING ON THAT FINGER ... — PHOTO

If you thought Benedict Cumberbatch getting engaged broke the Internet, just imagine if Tom Hiddleston secretly got married. That’s what a lot of fans feared this weekend when they spotted a gold band on a certain finger of his. On Sunday, a fan posted a picture with the actor and people immediately pointed out that it looked like Hiddleston was wearing a ring on his left hand.

But you can all breathe a collective sigh of relief because Hiddleston is most likely not married. He’s not even rumored to be dating anyone. (Although, I can’t imagine why, since he’s the world’s best catch.) The real story here, it seems, is that Hiddleston forgot to take his prop ring off at the end of his filming day. He’s currently playing Hank Williams for the movie I Saw the Light and his character has a wife. (Who is played by the very lucky Elizabeth Olsen.)

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY
By Jonathon Dornbush on Sep 11, 2014 at 2:51PM

Tom Hiddleston has been making the rounds to prove he can take on the legendary career of musician Hank Williams in I Saw the Light, and today it was announced he’ll be getting a little help from an Avenger.

Elizabeth Olsen will play Williams’ wife, Audrey Mae, in the film, which is set to release in 2015. Williams’ real wife, Audrey Sheppard, was a manager for the musician before the couple’s divorce. Their split was not the only issue plaguing Williams’ life, as he died at 29 from heart failure after battling alcoholism, prescription drug abuse and back problems.

Tom Hiddleston defends Hank Williams role

EXPRESS
June 20, 2014

TOM HIDDLESTON has defended his portrayal of country music legend HANK WILLIAMS in a new biopic, insisting he understands the "huge responsibility" to fans and has been practising his music skills every day.

The Thor actor will play the tragic star in I Saw The Light, a new film which will chronicle Williams' meteoric rise to fame and his untimely death at the age of 29 in 1953.

However, the casting of a Brit in the role has sparked debate among fans, and drawn criticism from late star's grandson, Hank Williams III, who insisted an American actor should have been picked by casting bosses.

Hiddleston has now spoken out to assure fans he will do everything he can to make sure Williams' story is accurately portrayed.

He tells the Daily Mail newspaper, "The film is about the man behind the myth, the power of his music, the sheer voltage of his talent and charisma, and his formidable demons... Hank's life has a tragic arc, but in simple truth, he was a genius: a star that burned twice as bright and lived half as long. It's a huge role for me and a huge responsibility. I'm going to give it everything I've got."
