Rosamund Pike and boyfriend Robie Uniacke welcome their second child into the world

It's a boy! Rosamund Pike has welcomed her second child into the world, another son with boyfriend Robie Uniacke

Rosamund Pike and long-time boyfriend Robie Uniacke have welcomed their second child into the world.

The Gone Girl actress gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday, her rep confirmed to Us Weekly.

The 35-year-old, who allegedly opted for a home birth, and her 53-year-old partner are already parents to two-year-old son Solo.

The actress started dating the businessman, a twice married father of four, three years before announcing her first pregnancy.

Eton educated Robie, a former heroin addict, was previously married to Emma Howard, 59, daughter of the late Earl of Carlisle with whom he has a son also called Robie.

The marriage ended unhappily and both checked into rehab clinics to deal with their addictions. His second wife, Rose Batstone, is an interior designer with whom he has three children.

Rosamund had previously hinted that marriage may not necessarily be for her, telling Vogue in 2012: ‘It is interesting to break all the rules. I'm not married, I have a baby, and it feels infinitely more right.’

Rosamund Pike says marriage is over-rated: Hit film Gone Girl has made her a superstar, but her love life is a train wreck

DAILY MAIL
By GEOFFREY LEVY FOR THE DAILY MAIL
PUBLISHED: 17:33 EST, 10 October 2014 | UPDATED: 21:55 EST, 10 October 2014

Rosamund Pike talked openly about marriage over the past week, saying that women often have unrealistic expectations of their spouses

Her past has all the ingredients for a blockbuster. It is the story of a beautiful English girl, educated privately and at Oxford, whose marriage dreams are twice destroyed in unique circumstances.

She first falls in love with a man who, after two intimate years, realises he is gay and now lives with a civil partner.

In the second reel, she falls in love with another man, they get engaged and buy a house. But when — unknown to him, apparently — she sends out ‘save the date’ pre-wedding cards to dozens of friends with a ‘tasteful’ picture of them in a hot tub, he is so appalled that he summarily dumps her.

This public humiliation is all the more puzzling as it befell a former Bond girl who has evolved into what the Mail’s theatre critic Quentin Letts describes as ‘one of the great beauties of our age’.

Not surprisingly, after such emotional blows, Rosamund Pike remains unmarried at 35. So it was telling when she said in an interview with Spectrum magazine that ‘people have ridiculous expectations of a mate’. She continued: ‘In my grandmother’s day, you wouldn’t expect your husband to fulfill the same need in you as your sister, or girlfriends, or colleagues at work.’

She then argued that it is not ‘universally achievable’ for just one person to meet all your needs.

After the disasters of two great loves, Rosamund now shares her life with former heroin addict and City businessman Robie Uniacke. He is a big, rather shambolic Old Etonian who is not only 18 years her senior but had two failed marriages behind him and four children when they met in 2010. Today they have a son, Solo, two, and she is expecting their second child.

Rosamund’s first love was actor Simon Woods, who, like Robie, was at Eton. He and Rosamund met and fell in love at Oxford, where both were studying English Literature. He was much envied by fellow undergraduates for having captured one of the most stunning girls at Oxford, and for two years she and handsome, charming Woods were inseparable.

But Simon had a secret. Unknown to Rosamund, he was beginning to doubt his sexuality. Eventually, he had to tell her.

Inside Benedict Cumberbatch's New Superhero Role as Doctor Strange

ABC

By MICHAEL ROTHMAN
Entertainment Reporter
 via GOOD MORNING AMERICA

PHOTO: Benedict Cumberbatch will star in "Doctor Strange" in the 2016 Marvel movie.

Marvel made it official last night, announcing that Benedict Cumberbatch, 38, would take on the role of "Doctor Strange" in the film due out on Nov. 4, 2016.

Doctor Stephen Strange discovers the world of magic and other dimensions following a terrible car accident, according to the official release.

The transition from "Sherlock" to "Strange" seems about as organic as can be and there's no question of Cumberbatch's acting chops. Plus, did you see him in "Star Trek Into Darkness" as Khan? The guy can kick some serious butt.

For average comic fans who don't know who this superhero is, it's time to get educated.

Strange first appeared in Marvel books back in the 1960s and his name partly came from the fact he first popped up in a series called "Strange Tales."

According to Marvel Wiki, Strange was a doctor, but that car accident mentioned above "severely damaged the nerves in his hands, ending his surgical career."

Richard Armitage’s Journey From Musicals to Middle Earth

WALL STREET JOURNAL
Dec. 4, 2014 5:35 p.m. ET

HIGH DRAMA | Richard Armitage at the Old Vic.

RICHARD ARMITAGE IS known for his controlled and stoic performances, so it’s rather disconcerting—and funny—to get an excited and happy yelp out of the 43-year-old British actor.

“Ah, thank God, thank you, thank you,” he says with a deep laugh when told that his diverse roles over the years, from brooding John Thornton in “North & South,” the 2004 BBC dramatization of Elizabeth Gaskell ’s novel, to British spy Lucas North in the TV series “Spooks,” to Thorin Oakenshield, leader of the dwarves in Peter Jackson ’s “The Hobbit” trilogy, make it hard to typecast him—except, perhaps, as a heartthrob.

Born in Leicester, England, and an alum of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, the New York-based actor has had a busy year. He received rave reviews in London over the summer for his spellbinding performance as the tormented John Proctor in the Old Vic’s production of Arthur Miller ’s “The Crucible.” The production was so well-received, in fact, that it’s being screened in cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland next week, and other locations world-wide in February.

Mr. Armitage says playing John Proctor in the Old Vic’s production of ‘The Crucible’ gave him resilience. TRISTRAM KENTON/THE GUARDIAN

The actor was also on the silver screen this summer, in Steven Quale ’s disaster movie “Into the Storm,” and he filmed “Urban Grimshaw and the Shed Crew,” which is currently in postproduction and co-stars Anna Friel. In October, he began work on “Sleepwalker” with director Elliott Lester —which Mr. Armitage says is a psychological thriller along the lines of “Memento” or the Italian film “La Doppia Ora”—and he will also be making a cameo appearance in a new film adaptation of Lewis Carroll ’s second “Alice” book, “Through the Looking Glass,” alongside Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway .

In December, Mr. Armitage—who at the age of 17 joined a circus in Budapest to get his actor’s Equity card—will be busy promoting “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” the last in the blockbuster trilogy, which premiered in London this week. “I know Peter has made an extraordinary film, because it is his last visit to Middle Earth—he will certainly do it justice,” says Mr. Armitage. “It will be a great way to end the year.”

We spoke to him about the bohemian life of an actor, joining Twitter and why he’s not cut out for musical theater.

WILL ANDREW SCOTT'S ROLE IN JAMES BOND 'SPECTRE' DELAY 'SHERLOCK' SEASON 4? WE CERTAINLY HOPE NOT

BUSTLE
KADEEN GRIFFITHS @KADEENGRIFFITHS
8 HOURS AGO ENTERTAINMENT

After months and months of anticipation, all your prayers have been answered. At an event in England Thursday morning, the title of the new James Bond film was revealed, not to mention the cast, the release date, and, most important of all, the kind of car that the titular spy would be driving. All should be seemingly well, right? Well, it would be if Sherlock star Andrew Scott wasn’t joining the Spectre cast. Sherlock fans will recognize Scott immediately as the deliciously evil, deliciously hammy — spoilers ahead — recently mysteriously resurrected Jim Moriarty. Since filming for the Sherlock special doesn’t even begin until January 2015, the question now becomes: is Scott’s role in Spectre going to delay Sherlock Season 4?

From the start, I want to say no. After all, Martin Freeman has been filming The Hobbit movies and Benedict Cumberbatch has had time to film The Imitation Game — and they play the two male leads on Sherlock, so obviously their film careers have no affect on their ability to show up for filming. However, Spectre doesn’t come out until November 2015, with the fourth season of Sherlock to film “later in the year” — so Scott’s schedule is going to be pretty tight here.

At the end of Season 3, Sherlock was about to be exiled from England when he was immediately called back because Moriarty had hacked all of the television screens to announce his triumphant and inexplicable return, despite having shot himself in the head at the end of Season 2. From that, it should be assumed that Season 4 is going to be all Moriarty all the time — at least in so far as the actual threat that Sherlock Holmes will be dealing with for the three-episode run. However, that’s quite likely why Scott has time to film Spectre around his Sherlock schedule.

Hold tight: They couldn't keep their hands off one another as they headed through the harbour

Michael Fassbender is officially in love and women across the globe are gutted.

The Hollywood heart-throb joined his girlfriend Alicia Vikander for a romantic stroll through Sydney after confirming they are a couple.

And it seems he has fallen so head over heels for his new beau that he forgot to put his shoes on!

They both took turns holding a plastic bag full of snacks that they purchased from a convenience store while continuing to explore Down Under together.

The pair are currently based in Australia while filming The Light Between Oceans, based on M.L. Stedman's New York Times best-selling novel.

Scenes have already been shot in the Marlborough and Otago regions of New Zealand, and there are also plans to visit Tasmania.

But in the meantime, Michael and co-star Alicia – who plays his wife in the upcoming movie - have been seen enjoying some of the delights of the harbour city over the last few days.

ACESHOWBIZ
December 01, 2014 04:28:01 GMT

Tom Hiddleston and Gillian Anderson are big winners at the 2014 Evening Standard Theatre Awards. Hiddleston and Anderson were awarded with Best Actor and Best Actress award respectively at a ceremony which took place at the London Palladium on Sunday night, November 30.

The Loki depicter on "The Avengers" took home the award for his role in "Coriolanus" after beating other contenders such as Mark Strong and Ben Miles. Receiving the trophy from Helen Mirren, Hiddleston said that he was "so proud" to be honored with the award. As quoted by BBC, the 33-year-old actor described "Coriolanus" as a "bloody, brutal, angry play." He received four stitches during the gig and "had the scars to prove it."

Anderson, meanwhile, won the Best Actress award for her performance in "A Streetcar Named Desire". The actress, who currently stars on "The Fall" alongside Jamie Dornan, was quoted as saying, "I haven't done that many plays and any time I do one I feel like an imposter."

James McAvoy handed the NOOK Award for Best Play to Rona Munro's "The James Plays" while the Best Musical trophy was awarded to "The Scottsboro Boys". Benedict Cumberbatch, who attended the event with his theater director/actress fiancee Sophie Hunter, presented the lifetime achievement award to Tom Stoppard.

George Clooney to star in Downton Abbey

THE AUSTRALIAN WOMEN'S WEEKLY
AEST 10:29, TUE DEC 2 2014

George Clooney is trying to enter British aristocracy after marrying his well-to-do wife Amal Alamuddin – well in the fictional sense at least.

George is due to make a cameo on British television series Downton Abbey alongside his Monuments Men co-star, Hugh Bonneville.

Recent pictures have emerged of 53-year-old Clooney with Bonneville's Robert Crawley on the set of the period drama looking every bit the 1930’s English gent with smoothed-back hair, a grey wide-lapelled suit and dapper tie.

The Gravity actor is rumoured to be appearing in a one-off sketch appearance for a Downton Abbey special in support of British charity Text Santa – a fundraiser for UK charities during the festive season.

The Clooney cameo is scheduled to air on December 19 and will reportedly see the Hollywood-heartthrob play a wedding guest appearing in scenes with Hugh as well as Michelle Dockery's Lady Mary Crawley, Elizabeth McGovern's Countess of Grantham and Laura Carmichael's Lady Edith.

Bonneville told Radio Times earlier this year that it was good to have his pal on set.

"He was incredibly generous with his time and his talent," Bonneville said.

Adding: "He was great – he was a good laugh and sprinkled some sort of magic dust over our experience."

Benedict Cumberbatch Going to be a Dad; Fiancée Sophie Hunter Pregnant – Report

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS TIMES
By Anne Lu | December 2, 2014 8:16 PM EST

Benedict Cumberbatch will soon become a father, according to a new report. His fiancée Sophie Hunter is said to be pregnant with their first child.

Showbiz Spy reports that the 36-year-old opera playwright and director is already two months along. The British couple decided to keep the happy news to themselves first before they announce it to the public.

“Benedict is delighted,” the site’s source, who is apparently close to the couple but is not authorized to speak on their behalf, claimed. “She is only two months along, so they’re keen to keep it a secret until they’re past the three months stage. They will deny the pregnancy until they want to announce it. They’re very private.”

The 38-year-old “Sherlock” star and Hunter announced their engagement in a very traditional way, with a newspaper announcement early in November. They haven’t revealed a date set yet for their wedding, but the insider claimed that they would get married before their baby comes out.

“They plan to get married before the baby is born,” the insider continued. “They’re very traditional and don’t want their baby to be born out of wedlock.”

The dubious report did not include the date of their wedding.

‘The Imitation Game’ For Real: Year’s 2nd-Best Debut Per Theater

DEADLINE HOLLYWOOD
by Brian Brooks
November 30, 2014 8:52am

The Weinstein Company’s The Imitation Game proved it’s the real thing, winning the specialty box office this weekend with a spectacular opening. Taking the same Thanksgiving weekend slot as previous TWC Oscar winners The King’s Speech and The Artist, the title bowed with the year’s second-best per-theater average, flying past Birdman‘s mid-October opening.

The Imitation Game grossed over $482K in four theaters, giving the feature a whopping $120,518 PTA. Fox Searchlight’s The Grand Budapest Hotel still reigns over 2014 with a $202,792 PTA, though its early-March launch did not have the same crowd of awards contenders vying for attention. The Imitation Game‘s debut is also TWC’s second-highest PTA ever, falling just behind the September 2012 debut of The Master, which grossed over $736K in five theaters, giving it a $147,262 PTA. That film, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, went on to cume $16.37M.

“We had a tremendous opening. Clearly, audiences loved it in New York and Los Angeles this weekend,” said TWC’s president of distribution Erik Lomis. “To do this in this crowded marketplace with serious contenders speaks a lot.”

Lomis said The King’s Speech, which won the Best Picture Oscar in 2010, opened on Nov. 26 in four locations, averaging $88,863. That film went on to cume $135.4M. The Artist, also a Best Picture winner, opened a year later on Nov. 25 with a $51,220 PTA en route to a $44.6M cume.

“The Imitation Game received an A+ CinemaScore and only a handful of films get that result,” said Lomis. Both male and female audience-goers gave it a large majority of definite-recommends, he said. The audience was 52% female.

On his upcoming film The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies: “It’s the last piece of Peter Jackson’s explorations of Tolkien’s works about Middle Earth, so expect the big finale before the curtain falls. There is a big clue in the title, but rest assured that a pretty spectacular battle is coming your way. As for my character Thorin, he is spiraling downwards but will rise again like all the best tragic heroes in literature.”
