Tom Hardy dons Bane-esque mask as he fights for his life alongside bald Charlize Theron in new trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road

 DAILY MAIL
By DANIEL VAN BOOM FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

The newest trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road sees Tom Hardy don some familiar accessories as he's trapped in a bane-esque mask

He's most well known as Bane in Batman: Dark Knight Rises, and it seems the key to Tom Hardy's success is a good mask.

The 37-year-old English actor is seen in a new trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road and it appears as though he'll spend much of the blockbuster film trapped in a heavy Bane-like mask.

Playing the titular character, Tom is seen literally fighting his way through a world of danger as he's joined on screen by the likes of Natalie Portman and Nicholas Hoult.

'My world is fire and blood,' he says at the beginning of the trailer as he overlooks a desert wasteland.

It's unfortunately not long before Max finds himself captured, bound to a stake tied to a villainous crew's vehicle.

One explosion later the soft spoken hero uses the stake to pole vault his way from his captors, as a gang of girls led by Charlize Theron's character Imperator Furiosa head towards the chaos.

'Out here everything hurts. Take what you can and run' she says to her group.

From there all hell breaks loose, with flashes of intense vehicular combat and a healthy dose of Tom Hardy action.

It all crescendos to a scene of fiery tornadoes, with Mad Max clinging to life at the centre.

Fleeing with style: One explosion later the soft spoken hero uses the stake to pole vault his way from his captors

Jennifer Lawrence Nicholas Hoult Dating Again? UPDATE: 'Hunger Games' Actress 'Getting a Lot Closer' with 'X-Men' Boyfriend on Set BY Jon Niles, Mstarz reporter , Mstarz reporter | Jun 21, 2013 09:45 AM EDT

Nicholas Hoult & Jennifer Lawrence

Last week some photos were spreading around the Internet, showing Silver Linings Playbook actress Jennifer Lawrence and Warm Bodies actor Nicholas Hoult hanging out together. The two are currently in Montreal filming X-Men: Days of Future Past, so it makes sense that they would be spending time together.

But the two young stars used to date so a lot of people are hoping that the two are rekindling their romance that ended earlier in 2013 due to busy schedules. It looks like their schedules have brought them back together though!

22-year-old Academy Award-winning actress Lawrence met the 23-year-old British actor on the set of X-Men: First Class. They dated for about 2 years before deciding to go their separate ways. The two remained friends and rumors started to mount with the announcement of this super hero sequel.

The two apparently were not trying to cool these rumors either, as they dined together in the Spring of 2013 and then started spending more time together while filming in Montreal. A few weeks ago, Nicholas accompanied Jen on a visit her brother and his family two weekends ago.

Lainey Gossip have got their mitts on these two new images from the set of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ featuring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Peter Dinklage in their 70s garb. While nothing has been confirmed, the ‘Game of Thrones’ Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor has been rumored to be playing the villainous Bolivar Trask in the film. ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the seventh installment in the ‘X-Men’ film series, started filming last month in Montreal, Canada. It will be the first film in the ‘X-Men’ film series to be filmed in 3D.

With director Bryan Singer merging past and present ‘X-Men’ actors for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the director has announced that Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Halle Berry (Storm), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) will be joining the film – which is ostensibly a sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class,’ but will prominently feature actors from the first ‘X-Men’ trilogy. Additionally, Hugh Jackman will be playing Wolverine again, and Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are to reprise their roles as Magneto and Professor X, with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy returning to play younger versions of the same characters in the film. Seeds of a tie-in between the trilogies were sown when Jackman cameoed as Wolverine in ‘X-Men: First Class.’ Jennifer Lawrence, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Booboo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters and Nicholas Hoult have also been confirmed to star.

Eddie Redmayne, Matt Smith, Nicholas Hoult: Who Will Play 'Poldark' In The BBC's Reboot Of The 70s Period Drama? by Holly Williams | 10 May 2013 (CONTACT MUSIC)

Eddie Redmayne - 2013 MTV Movie Awards

'Poldark' is set to return to our screens in a brand new reboot almost four decades on from the first episode premiere of the original series.

The BBC costume drama was first aired in 1975, based on the series of books by Winston Graham. It follows the trials and tribulations of Army Officer Ross Poldark's love life as he returns to Cornwall to find that the love of his life, Elizabeth, is set to marry his cousin. Embittered and unable to move on from his stolen love, he marries a simple servant girl named Demelza as the rest of his once idyllic life crashed around him.

Filming for the new series is set to begin later this year in Cornwall, though producers are still searching for the right candidate to play the coveted lead role. So far, suggestions as to who might land the part include 'Les Miserables' actor Eddie Redmayne, Matt Smith of 'Doctor Who', 'Kick-Ass' star Aaron Johnson, Jonas Armstrong from 'Robin Hood', 'Merlin''s Colin Morgan, Rob James Collier from 'Downton Abbey' and 'Warm Bodies' actor Nicholas Holt.

TOM HIDDLESTON, BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH, EDDIE REDMAYNE, BEN WHISHAW, RAFE SPALL AND MORE: British Actors To Watch Out For In 2013 (FEMALE FIRST)

14 March 2013

It is an exciting time for British cinema at the moment as there are a whole host of young stars that are really lighting up the big screen.

Not only are they making a name for themselves in the UK but they are also making a very big splash in the States.

So we take a look at some of the actors and actresses who are only going one way... and that is up!

- Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston is one of the most exciting British actors who has enjoyed success on the big screen, TV as well as delivering great performances on the stage.

After kicking off his career TV he has moved into film with Thor being his major breakthrough.

The role of Loki really kick started things and he has since gone on to star in Midnight in Paris, The Deep Blue Sea, War Horse and the incredibly successful Avengers Assemble.

He is now one of the most in demand actors and we are going to be seeing him in London Project, Thor: The Dark World and Only Lovers Left Alive.

We are big fans of Tom Hiddleston here at FemaleFirst and he is just going to get bigger and better roles over the next couple of years.

- Benedict Cumberbatch

Another actor that everyone seems to be talking about at the moment is the fantastic Benedict Cumberbatch - and 2013 is set to be the biggest year of his career to date.

He really grabbed everyone's attention with the lead role in Sherlock Holmes for the BBC, even though he did kick off his acting career in 2002.

We have seen him in movies such as War Horse and Tinker Tailor Solider Spy in recent years but his big screen career is going to explode this summer.

Cumberbatch is the big addition to the cast list of Star Trek Into Darkness as he plays the role of John Harrison.

He has also completed work on Twelve Years A Slave and he is also set to take on the role of Smaug in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again.

He is currently filming The Fifth Estate where he will play Julian Assange.

Colin Firth is my mentor (Nicholas Hoult) 08 March 2013 (CONTACT MUSIC)

Nicholas Hoult says his 'A Single Man' co-star Colin Firth has given him advice on making it in Hollywood ever since the pair met in 2009.

Nicholas Hoult admits Colin Firth is his mentor.

The 23-year-old actor looks to his 'A Single Man' co-star for advice about the cut-throat film industry and the pair regularly have catch-up dinners to discuss the 'Jack the Giant Slayer' star's progress in Hollywood.

He said: ''I had dinner with him the other night; he's always the best person to go to for advice.'

Asked what the best advice Colin has ever given him is, he told the Evening Standard magazine: ''You have to take your work seriously, obviously, but you have to also recognise the ridiculousness of it. Colin has had the ups and downs, been through all the actor breakdowns, and he's very intelligent, so he can see it for what it is.''

TOM HARDY: Nicholas Hoult Praises ‘Mad Max Fury Road’ As ‘Intense’ And Tom Hardy As Leading Man (GLOBAL DISPATCH)

By Stephen Nevets

The Jack the Giant Slayer star, Nicholas Hoult, made his rounds promoting his new film, the upcoming sequel to X-Men First Class and even spoke briefly about the Mad Max reboot which stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

Hoult told Collider, “George is a fantastic director very sweet, kind and caring and creates a brilliant environment to work in whereby you have these spectacular locations and the vehicles in that movie, the gut-churning noises they make. It was one of the most exciting sets I’ve ever been on in my life by far. To be a part of that visually and see the stunts they were doing. The story is full on, it’s intense and I can’t wait to see the film.”

Nicholas Hoult & Hugh Grant became car hunting buddies on About a Boy set

Former child star NICHOLAS HOULT became good friends with HUGH GRANT on the set of ABOUT A BOY - the actor taught his young pal how to play golf and the 11 year old helped the bachelor find his dream car.

Now grown up, Hoult admits he has many fond memories of working with Grant, who bought him a golf club set as a wrap present.

He says, "He was great... He was trying to find a new car at the time so I would go in with car magazines and be like, 'Wow, this guy's got money to buy cars, I'm gonna find him a cool car.'"

Hoult admits he did help Grant pick out the perfect motor, adding, "It was an Aston Martin."

'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie UPDATE: Henry Cavill New Front Runner For ChristianGrey? By Bobby Pollier, EnStarz | Jan 06, 2013 05:20 PM EST

Buzz over the movie adaptation of E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey" continues to heat up the web at an astounding rate.  While many notable actors have been discussed in fan polls as favorites to play the role of the 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey, one of the names that seems to come up fairly often is "Man of Steel's" Henry Cavill.

To add to the 29-year old's demand, he was recently coined as the "Breakout Star of 2013" by Fandango.  In the contest, Cavill beat out British movie stars Nicholas Hoult and Sam Clafin of "The Hunger Games:  Catching Fire," among other male celebrities.

Many women would love to see Cavill don the Grey role due to his dashing looks and chiseled physique.

"If the Man of Steel is the breakout star of 2013, then he totally should be #Christian Grey!" a fan of the franchise tweeted.

Man Of Steel: Henry Cavill Selected 2013 Breakout Male Star By Fandango Users By: Scott Johnson on January 3, 2013 (COMIC BOOK)

However, if a recent poll from Fandango is any indication, Henry Cavill looks to be getting a warm reception as Superman. Unlike polls conducted on a site like well Comicbook.com, where comic book movies and their stars would be at a huge advantage, Fandango reaches a more general audience.

In the Biggest Male Breakout Movie Star for 2013 category, Henry Cavill finished in the top spot for his upcoming role in Man of Steel.  He was followed by Sam Claflin in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Arnie Hammer in The Lone Ranger, Jain Courtney in A Good Day to Die Hard, and Nicholas Hoult in Jack the Giant Slayer and Warm Bodies.

It’s a pretty impressive accomplishment, considering that Warner Bros. has only barely begun their marketing for Man of Steel. With only two trailers released, Henry Cavill’s performance as Superman seems to be impressing the general population just as much as it impressed comic book fans. The Man of Steel is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on June 14, 2013.
