What time are the Oscars? Where to watch pre-shows, post-shows and The Show (LA TIMES)
Compiled by Ed Stockly
February 24, 2013, 9:00 a.m.
The 85th Academy Awards take place Sunday night beginning at 5 p.m. Pacific, but you can make a full day of Oscars TV viewing.
Oscar coverage begins Sunday morning and builds up to red carpet arrivals, interviews and more. The ceremony itself airs live at 5:30 p.m. Pacific on ABC.
You also can join us on latimes.com for live coverage of the red carpet and ceremony, including video commentary during commercial breaks from film critic Kenneth Turan and writer Robin Abcarian. While the show airs, latimes.com will have live updates on all the winners. Follow along from your computer, tablet or mobile phone.
Hosted by Seth MacFarlane, the show promises to be full of jokes, songs and musical production numbers. "Argo," Ben Affleck's drama set amid the Iranian hostage crisis, is considered the favorite to win best picture, but who knows? "Lincoln," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Beasts of the Southern Wild," "Django Unchained," "Les Miserables,""Life of Pi," "Amour" and "Zero Dark Thirty" are all in the running as well.

'Anna Karenina', 'Life of Pi' and 'Skyfall' Win at the 2013 Art Directors Guild Awards 'Pi' and 'Anna' will take their battle to the Oscars next BY: BRAD BREVET PUBLISHED: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH 2013 AT 8:25 AM
My current 2013 Oscar predictions for Best Production Design have Anna Karenina winning with Life of Pi the runner up and if the 2013 Art Directors Guild Award winners have anything to suggest about these predictions it would seem I'm on to something as both films were awarded in the Period and Fantasy categories respectively along with a win for Skyfall in the Contemporary category. Skyfall, however, is not up for an Oscar.

'Anna Karenina,' 'Lincoln' receive ASC Awards nominations (LA TIMES)
Seamus McGarvey was nominated for an American Society of Cinematographers Award for his work on the period drama "Anna Karenina." (Laurie Sparham)
By Susan King
January 9, 2013, 9:05 a.m.
The cinematographers of "Anna Karenina," "Les Miserables," "Life of Pi," "Lincoln" and "Skyfall" were nominated Wednesday morning for outstanding achievement in the feature film category for the 27th American Society of Cinematographers Awards.
All five cinematographers are previous ASC Awards nominees.
Roger Deakins earned his 11th ASC nomination for the James Bond blockbuster, "Skyfall." He previously won for the 1994 drama "The Shawshank Redemption" and 2001 thriller "The Man Who Wasn't There." Deakins was also the recipient of ASC's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

Bafta 2013: Dame Judi Dench finally recognised for James Bond role Veteran British actress Dame Judi Dench has finally been recognised by the Bafta awards for her role as M in James Bond, as Skyfall receives eight nominations this year. (TELEGRAPH)
By Hannah Furness9:14AM GMT 09 Jan 2013
It is the first time she has been recognized by Bafta for playing M, and comes as she finally finishes her 17 year stint in the role. Skyfall will be her final appearance in the James Bond franchise.
Her nomination is one of eight received by the film this year, including Outstanding British Film and Cinematography.
Javier Bardem was announced as a contender for best supporting actor, with potential accolades also including prizes for original music, editing, production design and sound.
Casino Royale has previously received nine nominations; a record high.
This year, Skyfall was narrowly pipped to the most nominations by Lincoln, which received ten, Les Miserables and Life of Pi which both received nine.
The award for best film will come from a short list of Argo, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty.
Judi Dench was first recognised by Bafta in1966 as "most promising newcomer", and has gone on to receive and impressive 26 nominations.
She has already won ten times, including best leading actress for Iris and Mrs Brown.
