Stephen Merchant, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jimmy Fallon - LIP SYNC CHALLENGE

NBC BAY AREA
By Alyana Alfaro |  Wednesday, Sep 25, 2013  |  Updated 2:29 PM PDT

Stephen Merchant, one of the funniest people in the world, from EXTRAS. Ricky Gervais got all the attention, but I find Stephen Merchant much funnier. Together they created The Office as well. Enjoy.

According to UK publication The Daily Express, Orlando Bloom is being strongly considered for the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming Batman-Superman crossover.

Ever since Welsh actor Christian Bale announced earlier in the month that he was giving up the Batman mantle, the internet has been abuzz with predictions on the next actor who will take up the role.

The Express says that a senior source at Warner Bros studio confirmed that Bloom is "odds-on to get the part, even before [their] first casting call."

The studio source says that Bloom "would be perfect to play off Henry [Cavill] and I think US audiences would be happy with two Brits as the joint male leads."

Man of Steel star Henry Cavill, X-Men: First Class's Caleb Landry Jones and Scoot McNairy are reportedly in the running to star in Warner Bros' new Godzilla movie.

The blockbuster will be directed by Gareth Edwards, who previously worked with McNairy (Killing Them Softly) on sci-fi indie film Monsters.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was also reportedly in the running to star in Godzilla, but turned down an approach late last year.

According to Variety journalist Justin Kroll, Gordon-Levitt and Cavill are studio choices, while McNairy and Landry Jones are favored by the production's creative team.

Emily Blunt is Harper’s Bazaar Australia’s November cover star ROSEMARY MAC CABE (IRISH TIMES)

Have you seen Looper? After a helluva lot of media hype – including a bizarrely confrontational interview that Joseph Gordon-Levitt did with Matt Cooper – I went to check it out on Monday night in the Savoy, my new local (I love those plush curtains!). I’d give it a solid 3.5 stars (I always feel like three stars is such a fence-sitting position). I’m not raving about it, like so many people are, but I did really enjoy it, despite Gordon-Levitt’s odd facial prosthetics. Emily Blunt puts in a seriously amazing performance.

Daniel Day-Lewis called ‘Mr. President’ on Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’ set By Meriah Doty | Movie Talk – 18 hours ago

Cast members -- including Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tommy Lee Jones -- and Spielberg himself addressed Day-Lewis as his character during the making of the film, which is based on the final four months of President Abraham Lincoln's life.

"I was calling [all] the actors by their character names... That was something I felt was important to establish a little authenticity, maybe even more for me than for them," Spielberg said [via EW.com].

Daniel Day Lewis: Spielberg’s Lincoln hits theaters November 9 Posted on July 23, 2012 - 16:19 by David Konow (TG)

Abraham Lincoln already graced our nation’s screens this summer in the fictional form of Vampire Hunter.

Unfortunately, the film didn’t take off at the box office in spite of the success of the book. However, a new, more serious look at the former president is slated to hit movie theaters this November, courtesy of Steven Spielberg.

According to MTV, Lincoln will have an exclusive release on the 9th, and then receive a wide release November 16.

Daniel-Day Lewis is playing Lincoln, which is reasons 1, 2, and 3 I’m dying to see this movie. Also one of the most brilliant writers alive, Tony Kushner (Angels in America), penned the screenplay.

Along with Day-Lewis, the film also stars Sally Field as Lincoln’s wife, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as his son, and Tommy Lee Jones as Thaddeus Stevens. Essentially, the film is an adaptation of the book Team of Rivals, written by Doris Kearns Goodwin, and the story focuses on the Civil War years 1861-1865.
