Dwayne Johnson And Ray Stevenson Recall Their Battles On The Set Of G.I. JOE: RETALIATION (COMIC BOOK MOVIE)
With G.I. Joe: Retaliation now out in the US, what better way to get psyched for the movie than reading all about the epic fight scenes which took place between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (Roadblock) and Ray Stevenson (Firefly)?
Firefly. Enlisted by Cobra to break Cobra Commander out of jail, he plays a pivotal role in the sequel, and director John M. Chu had this to say about why he wanted to include character. "Firefly sees beauty in the redistribution of energy, so while explosions may seem like destruction to us, he believes he is creating something. This almost artistic philosophy made Firefly really interesting to me and it went way beyond being merely a cold-hearted killer." According to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Firefly "only had about six lines when we first read the script," but they soon realised that they had to give him a much larger role in the movie. Who better to play him than Dexter and Thor star Ray Stevenson?

Alan Rickman - Die Hard Anniversary - Bad to the Bone
BY: FRANK DIGIACOMO
You really don't need to watch the clip to understand this about the franchise: Alan Rickman, who played deliciously contemptuous Hans Gruber n the first film, remains, far and away, the best Die Hard baddie of the franchise. His simpering imitation of an American hostage when McClane first encounters him is a thing of enduring beauty.
Why Rickman hasn't been made a Bond villain by now is beyond me.

Emily Blunt is Harper’s Bazaar Australia’s November cover star ROSEMARY MAC CABE (IRISH TIMES)
Have you seen Looper? After a helluva lot of media hype – including a bizarrely confrontational interview that Joseph Gordon-Levitt did with Matt Cooper – I went to check it out on Monday night in the Savoy, my new local (I love those plush curtains!). I’d give it a solid 3.5 stars (I always feel like three stars is such a fence-sitting position). I’m not raving about it, like so many people are, but I did really enjoy it, despite Gordon-Levitt’s odd facial prosthetics. Emily Blunt puts in a seriously amazing performance.

Henry Cavill Interview For ‘The Cold Light of Day’ (FLICKS AND BITS)
In 24 hours Will Shaw’s family will be dead. Armed with a gun, but no information, distraught, confused and alone in an unfamiliar city, Will (Henry Cavill) is forced to piece together the puzzle of his missing family. Unwittingly embroiled in a Government conspiracy with agents from all sides hot on his tail, an unrelenting chase across the streets of Madrid intensifies and Will is forced to question everything he has ever known in order to stay alive long enough to rescue his family… but is there anyone left he can trust? Starring Henry Cavill (Immortals, Man of Steel) alongside Hollywood action legends Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver, ‘The Cold Light of Day’ is an adrenaline fuelled action thriller from director Mabrouk El Mechri. The film is released September 7th in the US, while it sees its Blu-Ray and DVD release in the UK on September 10th.
You filmed ‘The Cold Light of Day’ just after ‘Immortals,’ a film you trained extensively for to get your characters physique and fighting abilities on point. With this, you’re playing an average man, with no particular skills. What was the experience like preparing for this role?
Henry Cavill: The preparation for this role was different, indeed (laughs). I came off ‘Immortals’ where I had to be super fit, and sort of the killer of men. This one was quite the opposite because I was told that I wasn’t allowed to do a single push-up or sit-up, I had to eat and drink as much as possible and be as average and normal as I possibly could be – within the short space of preparation time given, because ‘The Cold Light of Day’ was literally filmed off the back of ‘Immortals.’ The idea of the preparation was: be less competent and walk with less balance. For example, in a high stress situation, Theseus was very much someone who would react perfectly. In ‘The Cold Light of Day,’ Will doesn’t act that way at all (laughs). He runs or he fires blindly and tries to survive. The preparation was different. It was difficult to do prep for that. You kind of have to just feel it in the moment and run with it. But the most difficult thing was I suppose getting out of shape, it was trying to be as out of shape as possible so that it’s more believable in the story.

Henry Cavill: On the brink of Immortality
ASIA ONE
By Jason Johnson
The New Paper
Monday, Aug 13, 2012
Cavill obviously knows that he will soon be among the most famous human beings on Earth. Everywhere he goes, everyone will know his name, or at least that he's the Superman dude.
For most young actors, getting to star with Bruce Willis in a flick like The Cold Light Of Day would already be a huge thrill and would be the highlight of their career.
Shooting a movie in Spain with the Die Hard guy? That more than justifies having to appear in a Hellraiser movie, as Cavill did in 2005.
The Cold Light Of Day is an action thriller that's vaguely along the lines of Liam Neeson's Taken.
Cavill plays Will Shaw, a Wall Street hotshot whose mother and brother are kidnapped while on vacation in Spain.
As he embarks on his search, he learns that his father (Willis) works for the CIA and that he has a briefcase that can be traded in exchange for his family.
It's so interesting to see Cavill in a role like this knowing what's on the horizon.
He looks like just your run-of-the-mill handsome guy, but he's actually faster than a speeding bullet.
He comes from the planet Krypton.
He's Superman, for crying out loud

Sneak Peek and pictures: Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis & Sigourney Weaver in “The Cold Light of Day” (Photo Gallery) BYTHE EDITOR AUGUST 10, 2012 10:30AM (CELEBS.COM)
First pics have been released by the team for “The Cold Light of Day” an action-thriller starring Bruce Willis, Sigourney Weaver and new Superman Henry Cavill (above, yes, without a shirt on, which is how he spent most of “Immortals”).
Check out the pics – what we love is that this is the same director who brought us Jean-Claude Van Damme’s comeback movie “JCVD,” Mabrouk El Mechri.

Four minutes with Helen Mirren
HELEN Mirren talks about her insecurities, going naked and working with Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman in the film Red.
1. GAME DAME BATTLES INSECURITY
"It was honestly one of the hardest things I've ever done," says Dame Mirren of her new movie, The Door. "You can't see that, but it was."
Set in post-war, Communist Hungary, she plays a stern maid who reveals her past to her new employer. "I had to strip all my artform, all my technique away - the performance had to be naked. I was very insecure. Is this enough? Is it too much?"
2. THAT'S NOT ALL THAT WAS NAKED!
"I had absolutely no make-up on - which, incidentally, is brilliant," says Mirren, whose killer looks at 66 are well-chronicled. "I literally took five minutes to get ready in the morning. There's a liberation in that: take me as I am." She got back in the make-up chair for Hitchcock, playing wife to Anthony Hopkins as the famed director. "He's so wonderful, it was fantastic."

Raven star Luke Evans says rise to fame is like 'winning the lottery' By Robin Turner, Wales Online May 18 2012
The former Bedwellty Comprehensive School pupil, who grew up in Aberbargoed in the Rhymney Valley, admitted his friends from home are still “in shock” about his string of top roles.
The 33-year-old was speaking in the Philippines where he is promoting his latest film The Raven, a stylish, gothic thriller centred on the life of US horror writer Edgar Allan Poe.
The 33-year-old actor has become a familiar face on the big screen in films including The Three Musketeers, Immortals, Clash of the Titans and Tamara Drewe.
And he is due to star in the forthcoming two-part fantasy film and prequel to Lord of The Rings The Hobbit as Bard the Bowman.
The Welshman has also followed in the footsteps of fashion icons George Clooney, David Beckham and Bruce Willis by signing up as ambassador for Italian lifestyle brand Police, fronting all campaigns for the brand, including watches and jewellery, throughout 2012.
Asked about his success, Evans said: “It was never really part of my plan to be in films, it was really sort of a dream.
“When it happened and the ball dropped and started rolling very fast, it took a few jobs before I took a breather and sort of put everything into perspective.
“It has been an incredible last few years of my life.
“My friends back at home are still in shock as to where I am and what I’m doing and that it actually is happening to me and not somebody else.

Interview with Henry Cavill for The Cold Light of Day
Saturday, May 12, 2012
There’s more to the next ‘Superman’ than great looks By: Rito P. Asilo Philippine Daily Inquirer
DOES Henry Cavill have what it takes to wear the Man of Steel’s cape in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, “Man of Steel”? If you didn’t see Tarsem Singh’s “Immortals” last year, “The Cold Light of Day” (showing this week), the actioner Cavill topbills with Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver, has the answer—and it’s a positive one.
We’re talking about the hunky actor’s performance, not the movie, which follows the misadventures of Will (Cavill), a Wall Street trader who finds himself running all over Madrid after his family is kidnapped during a sailing trip in Spain.
In the incoherent course of the darkly photographed movie, the distraught Will learns that his father (Willis) not only has a second family in the Spanish capital, but is also revealed to be a rogue CIA operative who has possession of a contentious briefcase that contains important documents—though the movie never divulges what they are.
The action-thriller meanders all the way into its perfunctory finale—but, at least Cavill demonstrates that there’s more to him than his good looks. His acting choices are consistently spot-on, from beginning to end.
This bodes well for the upcoming big-screen “rebirth” of the DC universe’s Mightiest Superhero, which comes in the heels of the disappointing “Green Lantern.” Of course, Batman’s “Dark Knight” trilogy is in a class all its own, because the brilliant Christopher Nolan is behind it.

Emily Blunt: From stammer to star: Emily Blunt began acting to help her speech and now she's a Hollywood icon (MIRROR)
One of four children of an actress mother and barrister father, Blunt was born and raised in Roehampton, South London, and began appearing in school plays at 12 because acting was good for her stammer.
“What helped me a lot was taking an acting class because I found it a very liberating experience to be someone else on stage and talk in a different voice that wasn’t my own,” she says.
“It was miraculous how I never stuttered onstage, and I know a lot of stutterers who are actors. Bruce Willis and James Earl Jones stutter offstage and never when they’re acting.”
An agent signed Emily at 16 and she went into the West End, appearing as Gwen Cavendish opposite Dame Judi Dench in Sir Peter Hall’s production of The Royal Family at Haymarket Theatre.
In 2002, she played the female lead in Romeo And Juliet at the Chichester Festival.
After her movie debut in My Summer Of Love (2004) and a Golden Globe for 2005 TV drama Gideon’s Daughter, she made her scene-stealing Hollywood debut in the role of the arrogant assistant to Meryl Streep’s dragon-lady fashion editor in The Devil Wears Prada (2006).
She also showed up briefly, scantily-clothed, with Tom Hanks in Charlie Wilson’s War, appeared in The Jane Austen Book Club, co-starred with Steve Carell in Dan In Real Life and picked up several critics’ group awards and a Golden Globe for her lead role as The Young Victoria.
Emily has been married for nearly two years to American actor John Krasinski, who co-stars in the US version of The Office, and they have bought a home in Los Angeles. She says, “I love LA. It’s what you make of it.”
She was previously with singer Michael Bublé for three years and sang on his album Call Me Irresponsible. He even wrote a love song, Everything, for her, but they broke up in 2008 and are no longer in touch.

Henry Cavill: Bruce Willis has an unusual family vacation in action-packed The Cold Light of Day trailer (JOE.IE)
24/03/2012 10:38 am
Bruce Willis passes the action hero mantle down to his on-screen son - next summer's Superman - in the action-packed new trailer for The Cold Light of Day.
Though we won't get to see The Tudors star Henry Cavill don the blue and red outfit for director Zack Snyder's 'Man of Steel' blockbuster until summer 2013, we can assess his action hero chops in the new clip for The Cold Light of Day. Cavill stars as a young American who uncovers a conspiracy during his attempt to save his family, who were kidnapped while on vacation in Spain. Before long he realises the truth about his father's (Willis) occupation and before long, he's jumping, shooting and climbing like the best of our square-jawed cinematic heroes.
