Dan Stevens, Ricky Gervais, dinosaurs and London are the stars of the Night at the Museum 3 trailer

Dan Stevens, Ricky Gervais, dinosaurs and London are the stars of the Night at the Museum 3 trailer

The action-packed footage also features familiar faces Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Robin Williams and more...

The first trailer for Night at the Museum 3 has landed and there's a lot going on.
Let's start with the new additions – Dan Stevens, Ben Kingsley and Rebel Wilson – who all appear in the footage. Stevens has returned to his Downton roots, employing a plummy accent to play Sir Lancelot who defends the group from a giant dinosaur skeleton entombed in cavernous museum corridors.

Meanwhile, Wilson is the museum's bored security guard (with a dodgy cockney accent), while Kingsley appears as an Egyptian Pharaoh.

Dan Stevens gallops onto the London set as Sir Lancelot in third installment of action franchise with Ben Stiller

Oh what a knight! DanStevens films scenes as Sir Lancelot at the London set of Night At The Museum 3

From New York City's American Museum of Natural History to Washington DC's Smithsonian Institute, the Night At The Museum film franchise has now come to London.

And for the next few weeks, Ben Stiller and Robin Williams will be filming scenes at the British Museum, reprising their roles as former night watchman Larry and Theodore Roosevelt in the action blockbuster.

Which means a host of British historical figures will be thrown into the mix, including Dan Stevens as Sir Lancelot riding onto the set on his trusty steed.

The role is a significant one for Dan, who has yet to garner much box office success since leaving Downton Abbey.

He made the Amy Heckerling rom com Vamps with Krysten Ritter and Alicia Silverstone, which went straight to DVD, and the ill-fated Summer In February opposite Dominic Cooper and Emily Browning, that received just a 37% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Last year he did have a small role in the Wikileaks movie, The Fifth Estate, with Benedict Cumberbatch, but certainly the Night At The Museum will provide more opportunity for a break out performance.

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH: First Colorful Poster for Monty Python Comedy 'Absolutely Anything' by Alex Billington June 20, 2013 (FIRST SHOWINGS)

Absolutely Anything Poster

As the poster lists, Absolutely Anything stars Terry Jones, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin (all part of the original Monty Python) and Robin Williams as the voice of a talking dog. The sci-fi comedy is "not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility." The Pythons are voicing key roles as a group of aliens who endow an earthling (Benedict Cumberbatch) with the power to do "absolutely anything" to see what a mess he'll make of things — which is precisely what happens. There's also a talking dog named Dennis who seems to understand more about the mayhem that ensues than anyone else does. In addition to Cumberbatch, the cast includes Gemma Arterton in a key role. We're not sure of any set release plans yet.

Minnie Driver: 'I was young and I fell for Matt Damon' (TELEGRAPH)

By Jessica Salter
12:25PM GMT 01 Mar 2012

We were taking a break from filming a really pivotal scene in Good Will Hunting, and Matt Damon and Gus Van Sant, the director, were having an intense chat about the script – they changed a lot of it as we went along and they often broke off to have serious discussions.

I think I'm laughing at Ben Affleck, who was just out of frame – he is a very funny guy. This scene was important; it is the moment where Skylar, my character, keeps asking Will Hunting, Matt's character, how he can do her organic chemistry paper in five seconds flat, when it takes her four weeks to figure it out. Matt had been at Harvard, and the idea for Good Will Hunting came out of a writing assignment – Will Hunting is a genius who is forced to see a therapist, played by Robin Williams, and study advanced mathematics with a renowned professor, played by Stellan Skarsgård, in order to avoid going to jail.

He and Ben developed the script purely so they could have a shot at being actors. At this point they were completely unknown, but I had left drama school at 21 and made Circle of Friends (1995), Big Night and Sleepers (both 1996) and Grosse Pointe Blank (1997), which was just out and quite a big hit, so I was on a bit of a roll.

Naturally, things go horribly awry, while Robin Williams voices a dog named Dennis that tries to make sense of the mess following the lead character.
