'True Blood's' Stephen Moyer to Co-Star in NBC's 'Sound of Music'

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER
10:42 AM PDT 8/23/2013 by Philiana Ng

Stephen Moyer BAFTA LA Student Film Awards - P 2013

True Blood's Stephen Moyer will star in NBC's The Sound of Music.

Carrie Underwood to Play Maria von Trapp in NBC's 'Sound of Music'

The British actor will appear opposite Carrie Underwood in the Dec. 5 live holiday production, NBC announced Friday.

Moyer will portray decorated World War I hero Capt. Georg Von Trapp, the single father of seven children. Living in Austria on the cusp of World War II, the militaristic but warm-hearted Von Trapp engages a young governess, Maria (Underwood), whom he hires to take care of his children.

Moyer's casting comes after the actor-director wrapped a three-night July run at the Hollywood Bowl in the musical production of Chicago, where he played lawyer Billy Flynn.

The three-hour production is based on the original 1959 Broadway production of The Sound of Music,
which starred Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel. The play won the Tony Award as best musical, with Martin winning as best actress. The 1965 Sound of Music film adaptation starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, going on to win five Academy Awards, including best picture.

michael fassbender james mcavoy x men days of future past New Pics Of Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy & Peter Dinklage On The Set Of X Men: Days Of Future Past

Lainey Gossip have got their mitts on these two new images from the set of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ featuring Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Peter Dinklage in their 70s garb. While nothing has been confirmed, the ‘Game of Thrones’ Emmy and Golden Globe Award winning actor has been rumored to be playing the villainous Bolivar Trask in the film. ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the seventh installment in the ‘X-Men’ film series, started filming last month in Montreal, Canada. It will be the first film in the ‘X-Men’ film series to be filmed in 3D.

With director Bryan Singer merging past and present ‘X-Men’ actors for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ the director has announced that Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Halle Berry (Storm), Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) will be joining the film – which is ostensibly a sequel to ‘X-Men: First Class,’ but will prominently feature actors from the first ‘X-Men’ trilogy. Additionally, Hugh Jackman will be playing Wolverine again, and Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are to reprise their roles as Magneto and Professor X, with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy returning to play younger versions of the same characters in the film. Seeds of a tie-in between the trilogies were sown when Jackman cameoed as Wolverine in ‘X-Men: First Class.’ Jennifer Lawrence, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Booboo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters and Nicholas Hoult have also been confirmed to star.

Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer enjoy a family day out as they attend a party with their baby twins By LOUISE SAUNDERS (MAIL ON LINE)

Family fun: The super-cute twins would have no doubt been the centre of attention at the bash

They've become the perfect little family since welcoming their adorable baby twins into the world last August.
And Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer's bundles of joy would have no doubt been the guests of honour as they attended a friend's party at Paramount Park in Malibu, California, on Saturday afternoon.

Proving that at the tender age of nine months they are already social butterflies, the super-cute tots looked happy and content as they accompanied their actor parents to the bash.

Anna and Stephen were joined by a nanny, who assisted with the duties and seemed to be very much one of the family.

One of the family: The group were accompanied by a nanny as they made their way into the party

Stephen has two children Lilac, ten, and Billy, 12 from a previous relationship.

And before his twins were born, he discussed how excited he was at the prospect of becoming a father once again.

Lullaby: Stephen was seen cradling his little girl in his arms after she fell asleep

Henry Cavill And Anna Paquin Turn Up The Sex Factor At Tom Ford Party [PHOTOS] (SOCIALITE LIFE)

Well hello sexy!

When you go to a party hosted by Tom Ford, you know you have to look amazing, because he always does.
Anna Paquin and Henry Cavill did not disappoint at last night’s (February 21, 2013) Tom Ford cocktail party in support of Project Angel Food at TOM FORD in Beverly Hills, California.

Anna (yes, she gave birth to twins) smoldered in a leather cut-out dress and slicked back down-do, while Girls star Allison Williams looked smoking hot in monochrome.

Then there was Henry Cavill, who was accompanied by his girlfriend Gina Carano.

No one looks better in a tuxedo than Henry Cavill. Although, Henry looks better out of a tuxedo, and actually not wearing a shirt, but this is a Tom Ford party.

David Yates Committing to Tarzan at Warner Bros. By Claude Brodesser-Akner (VULTURE)

David Yates, the director of the last four Harry Potter films, has finally committed to his next project — and we’re told it will be a big-screen adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’s Tarzan at Warner Bros. Pictures.

No word on its cast — Yates only committed to the project on Monday — but we hear that Yates is meeting with up-and-coming actors like Man of Steel's Henry Cavill, Pacific Rim headliner Charlie Hunnam, and True Blood's Alexander Skarsgård.

(We also hear that the studio is keen to get a meeting with Tom Hardy, who has put in his time on Warner Bros. blockbusters like The Dark Knight Rises and Inception, but less clear is whether Hardy shares the studio’s enthusiasm for that part.)

THANKS AGAIN TO HENRY CAVILL FANPAGE

Reese Witherspoon, Colin Firth Dine at Canoe The Academy Award winning actors dined with their cast mates and producers over the weekend. By Sydney Busby ( SMYRNA VININGS PATCH)

The stars shined bright in Vinings last weekend as Academy Award winning actors Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth took a break from filming Devil’s Knot to enjoy dinner at Canoe.

Co-star Stephen Moyer, known for his role as Bill Compton on HBO’s True Blood, also attended. Lori Vance, Canoe’s special event coordinator, said the actors were accompanied by a small party of about 15 of the film’s producers and investors.

“It was a small, intimate dinner,” she said. “They really just wanted to be able to come to dinner and be able to relax. It was pretty low-key (…) They had a great time,” she said. “I heard from them the next day. They really enjoyed it. They started off outside and then they moved in to the private dining room for dinner.”

Colin Firth: Stephen Moyer joins Devil's Knot Stephen Moyer has bagged a leading role in upcoming drama Devil's Knot. (MSN)

Stephen Moyer has bagged a leading role in upcoming drama Devil's Knot.

The 42-year-old actor - whose wife and True Blood co-star Anna Paquin is currently expecting twins - joins Oscar-winners Reese Witherspoon and Colin Firth in the film, Deadline reports.

Essex-born Stephen, who plays vampire Bill Compton in the hit US TV show, will play prosecutor John Fogelman in the movie about the West Memphis 3 murder controversy.

The film is based on Mara Leveritt's 2003 book and tells the story of teens Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, who were tried in 1993 for the killing of three eight-year-old boys.

They were sent to prison despite a lack of evidence and after years of appeals were finally released last year with ten-year suspended sentences.

Colin is starring as a private investigator who became the trio's first champion when they were headed to trial, and offered them his services for free.

Man of Steel directed Zack Snyder has revealed to MTV News why he cast Henry Cavill as Clark Kent, aka Superman, in his big screen adaptation. Zack has admitted that it was ultimately came down to two people, Henry Cavill and True Blood actor Joe Manganiello but Henry just had the edge.

Snyder explained, "Henry's just ... I love Joe too, by the way. Really he was the only other guy I was thinking of, to be honest, other than Henry. In the end, I think Henry just has this innocence, too [in addition to the physicality required for the role].

Oprah and other fond farewells, plus 2011's Top 10 (actually 13) best shows: The year in TV (Cleveland.com)

Published: Sunday, January 01, 2012, 6:00 AM
OPRAH-WINFREY.JPG

Oprah Winfrey ended her long-running daytime show in May.
The year that was was a television year defined by high-profile departures. Indeed, "Auld Lang Syne" could have been the theme song for the last 12 months.

There was also enough quality TV happening that it's hard to limit a best-of list to just a Top 10. But 2011 was no stranger to challenges -- and the challenging.

Fond farewells
The longest goodbye belonged to the queen of daytime television, Oprah Winfrey. She said farewell to her syndicated daytime show, turning full attention to getting the struggling OWN cable channel on track.

There were other seismic shifts on the syndication front. Regis Philbin wrapped up a 28-year daytime stint, leaving his talk show "Live! With Regis and Kelly." Mary Hart left "Entertainment Tonight" after a 29-year gig. Winfrey, Philbin and Hart logged a combined 82 years on their signature shows.
News divisions also saw big changes. Jim Lehrer stepped down as anchor of the "PBS NewsHour."

Meredith Vieira left NBC's "Today" show. Katie Couric relinquished the "CBS Evening News" anchor chair after just five years.

Keith Olbermann parted company with MSNBC. Glenn Beck left Fox News.

Breaking up is hard to do? Maybe so, but it sure happened with great regularity in 2011.

Scripted prime-time shows were not immune to the bye-bye blues. Steve Carell resigned from NBC's "The Office" after seven seasons. And Laurence Fishburne left CBS' "CSI" to concentrate on movie and theater roles.

But the noisiest departure of last year unquestionably was Charlie Sheen's carnival split with "Two and a Half Men."

Daytime viewers bade adieu to the soap opera "All My Children," which ended a 31-year ABC run. Prime-time viewers said goodbye to such long-running quality series as "Friday Night Lights" and "Rescue Me."

And then there were the sad goodbyes for those iconic TV stars who died in 2011. That roster includes Peter Falk ("Columbo"), James Arness ("Gunsmoke"), Harry Morgan ("M*A*S*H") and Andy Rooney ("60 Minutes").

TIMOTHY-OLYPHANT.JPG"Justified," starring Timothy Olyphant, was at the top of the 2011 heap.
The Top 10
It's always difficult limiting this annual list of notable overachievers to 10, particularly when you consider how much class a handful of cable channels have contributed to the ever-expanding TV landscape. So you'll notice that, on few of these, I cheated, sneaking in an extra title or two. Even with such overt fudging, I sure wish I had a few more spots.

1. "Justified" (FX): Even if AMC's "Mad Men" had aired original episodes in 2011 (which it didn't), "Justified" might still have claimed the top spot. U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and his crew raised their already impressive game in the second season, electrified by Margo Martindale's Emmy-winning portrayal of Kentucky crime matriarch Mags Bennett. Lightning doesn't strike twice? It has for Olyphant ("Deadwood") and Walton Goggins ("The Shield"), who have found sensational roles in another searing cable drama.

2. "Downton Abbey" (PBS): Set in a Yorkshire country house and airing on the PBS series "Masterpiece," this sumptuous British drama recalled the addictively witty delights of "Upstairs Downstairs" and "Brideshead Revisited." Writer and executive producer Julian Fellowes created a richly detailed world for a cast that includes Maggie Smith, Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville and Siobhan Finneran. All return for the second season, which begins at 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, on WVIZ Channel 25 and WEAO Channel 49.

3. "The Middle" and "Modern Family" (ABC): Comedy is far from dead, and ABC consistently demonstrates the point with this hilarious one-two Wednesday-night combination. "Modern Family," featuring Youngstown native Ed O'Neill ("Married . . . With Children") rightly picks up award after award (including the last two Emmys for best comedy), but it shouldn't overshadow the wonderful work being done on "The Middle," starring Bay Village native Patricia Heaton. Two family comedies with loads of heart.

4. "Breaking Bad" (AMC): The fourth season had its logic lapses and its uneven episodes, but the powerhouse performances, particularly three-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston's portrayal of increasingly dark Walter White, remained the mightiest draw to this ambitious drama about the heart and soul of a decent man being consumed by evil. Having taken the once-sympathetic Walter from high school chemistry teacher and cancer patient to drug kingpin and murderer, executive producer Vince Gilligan has said that the fifth season will be the last.

5. "Damages" (DirecTV): With the move from FX to DirecTV for the mystery drama's fourth season, there was significantly less buzz surrounding this marvelously sly show. Too bad. Glenn Close was typically brilliant (and scary) as master manipulator Patty Hewes, and John Goodman was a more-than-formidable opponent as Howard T. Erickson, the private military contractor at the center of a wrongful-death suit. With help from the likes of Judd Hirsch, Fisher Stevens and Griffin Dunne, the legal series successfully reinvented itself yet again.

6. "Community" (NBC): It's past time that this series got full credit for being one of the best lunacy courses on television. Although never nominated for anything when award shows roll around, the community-college comedy is often goofily innovative and genially eccentric. It also boasts one of the most able ensembles in the prime-time ranks, including Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs, Chevy Chase and East Cleveland native Yvette Nicole Brown. Even NBC's executives, who put the show on hiatus last month, don't seem to realize what they have.

7. "True Blood" (HBO), "The Walking Dead" (AMC) and "American Horror Story" (FX): This terrific terror trio has upped the guts-and-gore factor in the cable realm, but each of the three leading supernatural series has served up some memorably chilling moments. Each has had its share of hey-wait-a-minute moments as well, and "True Blood" is probably the best of them. But the vampires of "True Blood," the zombies of "The Walking Dead" and the oddball ghosts of "American Horror Story" have pushed horror to haunting new heights on TV.

8. "Homeland" (Showtime): "Dexter," although still a pretty high-octane mixture in a year when the bloody formula seemed slightly off, may not have been the best series on Showtime in 2011. That distinction has passed to this nuanced and intricately plotted suspense thriller about a troubled CIA analyst (Claire Danes) who is convinced that a rescued Marine sniper (Damian Lewis) was turned by terrorists during his eight years of captivity in Iraq. There are nits to pick with the complex structure, but Danes, Lewis and Mandy Patinkin are mesmerizing.

9. "Rescue Me" (FX): The easy play on words here is that the fiery cable drama went out in a blaze of glory. Easy to say, perhaps, but not easy to pull off, considering the heights this series reached over its seven-season run. It was a wildly irreverent, moving and thoughtful final season, though, and Denis Leary's series about New York City firefighters went out on just the right note (with the Pogues' "Dirty Old Town") -- and near the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

10. "Boardwalk Empire" (HBO): Still uneven in its second season, the Roaring '20s drama nonetheless remains an intoxicating brew about Prohibition and the price of power. Atlantic City kingpin Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) regained control of the town and beat the legal rap against him, but it would be a stretch to suggest that all is right with his volatile world. The series certainly set itself challenges for the third season, killing off such popular characters as Angela (Aleksa Palladino), the Commodore (Dabney Coleman) and Jimmy (Michael Pitt).

Martin Freeman reveals his first encounter with Gollum in The Hobbit! (Morning Spoilers)

A Community star might be in the new Evil Dead. What do action figures reveal about the plot of The Dark Knight Rises? Damon Lindelof breaks down the Alien connections in Prometheus. Plus lots more on Bryan Fuller's Munsters reboot!

Spoilers from here on out!

The Dark Knight Rises

I can't believe there's an inside source on this, but someone is claiming to have seen an early list of the figurines Mattel is making for their 6" Movie Masters line... wait, no, I actually can totally believe that. Anyway, the list reportedly features all the expected names — Batman, Catwoman, Bane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's police officer John Blake, and Alfred — along with one unexpected entry: Ra's al Ghul. Assuming this is true - and again, I'm kind of dumbfounded we're now debating the veracity of a list of action figures — this raises the question of whether the figure will look like Josh Pence, who is playing the young Ra's in the film, or Batman Begins actor Liam Neeson, who has been widely rumored but still completely unconfirmed to appear in this third film. Either way, this might indicate that Ra's al Ghul plays a larger role in the film than previously expected... or it could just mean that kids really love Liam Neeson and/or Josh Pence, which I could also totally believe. Anyway, as always, grains of salt at the ready. [Comic Book Movie]

The movie has also been given an official release date of July 20, 2012 in both 2D and IMAX formats. [Coming Soon]

The Avengers

Tom Hiddleston discusses the moment where Loki has to just throw Tony Stark out a window:
I did get to throw Tony Stark [Iron Man's alter ego] through a window - which you can see in trailers — all I can tell you is he deserved it. He's got a sharp tongue, that Tony Stark. I had the privilege of throwing Robert Downey Jr. out of a window. So, it's pinch-me moments all the way.
[New York Daily News]

Prometheus

Writer Damon Lindelof talks some more about this movie's connections to director Ridley Scott's original Alien, something the just released trailer didn't make any clearer:
"One part of me sort of wants to be working on something where I can say, ‘This is exactly what this is' without being secretive or mysterious but I think that with the genesis of this a couple of years ago - when Ridley announced that he wanted to make an ‘Alien' prequel - that's where this began and where it's evolved to is this conversation: Is it or isn't it [an 'Alien' prequel]? And I think this little sort of dance that we're doing basically existed prior to anybody seeing anything. Now that people are seeing stuff I think the material kind of speaks for itself. If you're looking at it through the prism of ‘I want it to be that,' you'll notice the way the word ‘Prometheus' comes up [in a way that resembles the 'Alien' classic logo] or look at the production design and the way the whole thing feels. If you're looking at it from the perspective of wanting it to be something more original, I think the trailer accomplishes that by being pretty cool to people who have never even seen ‘Alien.'
"It's accomplishing what we set out to do. I wish that we didn't have to be so mysterious about it but mystery can be a good thing as long as you've got the goods to back it up. In this case, when the movie arrives, one of the most visionary filmmakers in the history of cinema will be putting his cards on the table and I'm just kind of standing behind him with my arms folded."
[Hero Complex]

The Hunger Games

It turns out Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars aren't the only ones contributing original songs to this movie's soundtrack. Other contributors will reportedly include the Decemberists, Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire, and star Jennifer Lawrence herself, who will sing the song "Rue's Lullaby." Again, how much, if any of this, will actually find its way into the movie itself is an open question. [EW]

Robocop

Director Jose Padilha promises this movie will retain all the social commentary of Paul Verhoeven's original film, and it will indeed stay in Detroit to do it:
"The satire element of RoboCop is, I think, needed today. That kind of social, aggressive satire I haven't seen done well in movies lately. And it's almost like the politics and violence in the world is asking for this: 'Someone please make some satire now!' So we're going to keep that edge."
[Telegraph]

Gravity

Alfonso Cuaron's stranded astronaut movie, in which Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are the lone survivors of a destroyed space shuttle desperately trying to reach the International Space Station before their air runs out, has been given a release date of November 21 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX formats. [Coming Soon]

John CarterHere's another image of star Taylor Kitsch as John Carter. [Comic Book Movie]

The Hobbit

Bilbo Baggins actor Martin Freeman discusses the first scene he filmed, which just happens to be one of the most crucial scenes in the film:
"The first thing I filmed was finding the ring in Gollum's cave. It's good to know, but not play, the importance of the Ring. I'm trying to put a bit more heaviness into it. It's not all comical."
Gollum actor and the film's second unit director Andy Serkis also talks about Freeman's performance in the scene:
"It was great for Martin to start off with that chamber piece. He could find Bilbo within the confines of a one-on-one scene. It was almost stranger for me: for the first couple of days it felt like I was doing an impersonation!"
Finally, Freeman notes the particular challenges of playing Bilbo Baggins, which involves a lot of unusual hobbit-related prosthetics:
"In the normal run of things, there'd be quite a lot going on for me. I've got ears, the wig and the feet, which three more things than an actor normally has… But then I look over at the dwarves and see what they're lugging! They're absolute troopers."
[Comic Book Movie]
The movie's release date is now officially set for December 14 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX formats. [Coming Soon]

Jack the Giant Killer

Warner Bros. has released a promo image for Bryan Singer's gritty fairy tale movie, which has been given a release date of June 15, 2012 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX formats. There's also an official synopsis below. [Coming Soon]
"Jack the Giant Killer" tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom, its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend-and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Dark Shadows

Here's a high-res version of the cast promo photo that was released a while back. Also, we now know the movie's release date is May 11, 2012.

Evil Dead

This is just a rumor, so take it with all due grains of salt, but two actress reportedly auditioned for roles in the film. Specifically, Community costar Gillian Jacobs and Friday Night Lights actress Jurnee Smollett reportedly auditioned, though it's not known if they were trying out for the part of Mila, the drug-addicted young woman who kicks off the demonic possessions, or one of the other characters. [Destroy the Brain]

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Here are some promo images for the sequel to Journey to the Center of the Earth, which will be released February 10, 2012 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX.

Wrath of the Titans

Here are some promo images for the upcoming Clash of the Titans sequel, which has been given a release date of March 30, 2012 in, yes, all three formats. Coming Soon]

Woman in Black

Here are some promo images from the Daniel Radcliffe starring horror movie. [ShockTillYouDrop]

True Blood

Writer Alexander Woo says he's currently working on episode four of the fifth season, and he will be doing another episode later on this season. He also talks generally about what to expect in season five:
We have gathered to discuss the storylines and themes of Season 5, and scripts for the first half of the season are being written. We are preparing to shoot Episode 1 right now...I've read episodes 1 and 2, and I'm very excited about them...Some of the things that people loved in the first four seasons of ‘True Blood,' you'll be getting more of. And there will also be some surprises that will hopefully delight everyone. We have a sense of what the fans have already enjoyed in the previous seasons, and we're doing our best to give our fans more of that but also leave some room for novelty and surprise.
[Inside True Blood]

Chuck

Here's a new promo photo for this Friday's episode, "Chuck vs. the Baby", featuring Cheryl Ladd as Sarah's mother alongside Zachary Levi's Chuck. [multipleverses.com]

Grimm

Here's the official description for episode eight, "Game Ogre", which airs January 13 and kicks off the second half of the season:
AN ESCAPED FUGITIVE'S MURDEROUS RAMPAGE LANDS AT NICK'S FRONT DOOR — An escapee returns to Portland seeking revenge against those who put him behind bars. His unusual strength and high tolerance for pain makes Nick (David Giuntoli) take notice. As the case escalates Nick and Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) are put in danger, and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) is called into action to help put an end to the convict's deadly rampage.
[KSiteTV]

The Munsters

A ton more details have come out about the Munsters reboot Bryan Fuller is working on for NBC. Assuming this isn't all an elaborate work of fan fiction, check out these details on the rebooted Herman Munster, which seems to give a pretty fair idea of what to expect from this show:
Think Dawson Leery's compassionate, all-supportive dad (from "Dawson's Creek") crossed with Frankenstein's monster. Was created by Grandpa; no other man, besides one he puts together, would of course be good enough for his daughter Lily. Doesn't much look like Fred Gwynne's Frankenstein-looking fellow from the original. This Herman is more of a stud – albeit one with scars. He's a skinny, but rather attractive man in his '30s – though he's stitched together from the body parts of other men and has a mechanical steampunk heart – one that is breaking down. Though Herman does get a heart replacement – thankfully a few of those ‘dead hobo's' turn up under the swimming pool – he's not doing well (he loves too much and it's killing him). Believing he has no choice if he wants Herman to live, Grandpa finds a nice man with a "good heart" for Herman (if you get my drift). A big old softie that adores his family, Herman is his son's best friend and has a passionate relationship with the Mrs.
Look, I liked Pushing Daisies as much as the next guy, but my goodness, if this is true... well, it sounds like it has all the makings of a misfire of David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman proportions, honestly. But hey, judge for yourself - there's much more at the link. [Moviehole]

British director Danny Boyle teams up with James McAvoy for his next movie, the thriller Trance. Revolving around an auction house assistant who executes a heist with a group of professional thieves, the film is a remake of the 2003 Joe Ahearne film of the same name. McAvoy was snapped with a wounded head for a scene shot in London. Trance is scheduled for release in 2013 (Source: Collinder)

Welsh actor Luke Evans (The Three Musketeers) seems to be everywhere at the moment! Probably because he is in 15 movies out between 2010 & 2012. One of these is The Raven in which he plays Detective Emmett Fields in a fictionalized story about the last days of Edgar Allan Poe’s (John Cusack) life, in which the poet pursues a serial killer whose murders mirror those in the writer’s stories. Take a look at the first image and trailer featuring Evans below. The Raven is out on March 9, 2012. (Source: Bloody Disgusting)'

I thought Henry Cavill always looked good! The Tudors actor was recently photographed on set in Vancouver while filming Zack Synder’s Superman: Man of Steel. The reason for the mustache, beard, stained jumper and lack of shoes? Well speculation has it that this could be the portion of the film set in Alaska when he visits his fortress of Solitude, or it could just be that he has taken a couple of days of from saving the world! Talking of Henry Cavill, he has another movie out on November 11 called Immortals and the latest images show him back to his usual self. In this fantasy-action film Cavill plays Theseus a mortal man who is picked by the god Zeus to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion. We also found a behind the scenes featurtte that I have included below. (Source: FilmoFilia)

Snow White has a dress for every occasion apparently! The Tarsem Singh directed Snow White project that is yet to be titled features the beautiful Lily Collins (The Blind Side) in one of two adaptions of the classic fairytale coming out in 2012 (the other, Snow White & The Huntsman stars Kirsten Stewart). Scheduled for March 16 next year some of the first images of Collins have been released and she literally has a different outfit in each! (Source: Yahoo Movies)

I did not realise how jam-packed with Brits Martin Scorseses latest movie, Hugo was until I saw some of the latest images. It stars Asa Butterfield (Nanny McPhee Returns and TV’s Merlin) as the orphan, Hugo Caberat, who in 1930s Paris, gets wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton. The latest images feature Sir Ben Kingsley and Jude Law in a film that also stars Emily Mortimer, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ray Winstone and Christopher Lee. Hugo is out on November 23 and I have also included the trailer to go with the images. (Source: The Playlist)

I am guessing that British Actor Stephen Moyer of True Blood fame will be using his best American accent once again when he stars in the horror movie Barrens. Set in New Jersey he plays Richard Vineyard who when he takes his family on a camping trip becomes convinced they are being stalked by the legendary monster of the Pine Barrens: the Jersey Devil! You can expect to see this one some time in 2012 – (Source: Bloody Disgusting)

I have not examined these photos that closely but I am certain that there must be a Brit or two in the latest on set shots captured for the second season of Game Of Thrones! Especially when you consider 22 British actors have joined the already Brit-packed original cast (23 actually, Downton Abbey actress Rose Leslie joined today but I still need to update our list). Game of Thrones is back on HBO in April next year. (Source: Digital Spy)
