“I’ve always been a keen letter writer and so Tom and I write to each other most days when we are apart – or at least every other day,” Charlotte said.

She also added about Tom‘s son: “I want babies, lots of them. Definitely, absolutely definitely. Louis is four and the most incredible, intelligent, creative little human being I have ever met – he is amazing. I feel very honoured to be his stepmum.”

From Bane to Bond: Why Tom Hardy Would Make A Brilliant 007 (CONTACT MUSIC)

With the iconic James Bond franchise set to receive a significant amount of attention at the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony given that 'Skyfall' marked the spy series' 50th anniversary as well as becoming the biggest blockbuster of the year in terms of both commercial and critical success, it's only natural that we've started to wonder about Bond number seven. After all, Daniel Craig has completed a total of three 007 flicks over the past six years and after getting wed in 2011, now might be the time to step down and enjoy some family time before he reaches 50. We've thought up a possible candidate and reckon we have some pretty good justification as to why Tom Hardy should become the next James Bond.

He's British.
Okay, so we know the others have been too, apart from George Lazenby, but with 'Skyfall' becoming the number one box office hit in 2012, it's only natural that Hollywood would want to put their stamp on it and add a taste of America to the English franchise. We think it's an absolutely essential part of portraying the secret spy that he is played by an British actor, but film making seems to have become changeable in terms of the nationality of big brand characters these days. Take iconic superheroes Spider-Man and Superman for example: 'The Amazing Spider-Man' was the latest installment in the franchise and that very American title role was scooped by Brit Andrew Garfield while Henry Cavill landed the main role in the upcoming Superman movie 'Man of Steel'. If Brits can become Americans, let's hope the opposite doesn't become of Bond.

Tom Hardy Tops List Of 2012's Biggest Movie Stars (CINEMA BLEND)

Author: Sean O'Connell

Who were the biggest stars of 2012? Well, a lot of that depends on what your definition of “biggest” would be.

Few people could argue that they had a bigger year than Jennifer Lawrence, who had one smash hit in The Hunger Games and is closing off the year with Oscar buzz for her performance in David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook. At the same time, Kristen Stewart closed off her massive Twilight franchise with Breaking Dawn: Part 2, had a summer hit with Snow White and the Huntsman, generated a few critical raves for On the Road and even notched her own tabloid scandal thanks to an ill-timed kiss with her Huntsman director.

Both ladies make a new list released by IMDB, which tallied its STARmeter rankings for the year to simply see which celebrities marked the most page views. Critical assessments and box-office numbers weren’t important. This was just cyber-interest generated by IMDB users, and their No. 1 selection – Tom Hardy – was somewhat surprising to me.

Tom Hardy to Play Christian Grey Thanks to E.L. James? November 04, 2012 08:00 PM EST (CELEBS)

by Hope Carson

According to sources, Tom Hardy is a shoo-in for the much sought after role, because of his less than six degrees of separation connection to the now unspeakably rich and famous "mommie porn" author. A 50 Shades of Grey director has yet to be chosen, but the screenwriter is Kelly Marcel who is James' choice. Marcel and Hardy are longtime BFFs. They even founded a London theater company together. Also, James has strong ties to British theater--especially Shakespearean theater where Hardy "cut his teeth and honed his acting chops." And finally, Hardy is, like E. L. James, British.

So, there you have it. Of course, being British and having a theatrical background won't necessarily help in the Fifty Shades of Grey sweepstakes. Robert Pattinson who's from a similar background lost out miserably in the most recent polls. Tom Hardy's name has yet to be even listed in one, but maybe that's a good thing.

'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie: Tom Hardy, Friend Of Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, Considered Grey Front-Runner? By Bobby Pollier, EnStarz Read more

(Photo : Reuters) Hardy poses at a premiere at the Grauman's Chinese theatre in Hollywood

Fans have been continuously buzzing over who they feel would make the Christian Grey character in the film adaptation of the E.L. James racy read "Fifty Shades of Grey."  Although the author and the rest of the production team has remained quiet on just who the front runner will be in the casting process, the progression toward making the actual movie itself just picked up a little more steam.

On Monday, it was announced by Universal and Focus Features  that "Terry Nova" writer Kelly Marcel would be brought on to pen the film script.  The 38-year-old is also a friend and fan of "Lawless" actor Tom Hardy, who just so happens to be one of the front-runners for the role of Grey.  Interestingly enough, Marcel and the 34-year-old British heart throb also founded the "Bad Dog Theater Company" in London together.

Tom Hardy Climbing Aboard Doug Liman-Directed ‘Everest’; He’ll Play George Mallory By MIKE FLEMING | Monday September 24, 2012 @ 7:41pm EDT (DEADLINE NEW YORK)

EXCLUSIVE: Tom Hardy is in early talks to star in Everest for Sony Pictures. He will play George Mallory, the climber who tried three times in the 1920s to become the first man to scale the world’s highest mountain. Doug Liman will direct the film after he completes All You Need Is Kill at Warner Bros with Tom Cruise.

An adaptation of Jeffrey Archer’s book Paths Of Glory, Everest has been adapted by Sheldon Turner (Up In The Air). Jennifer Klein is producing, and Dave Bartis, Liman’s partner at Hypnotic, will also be a producer.

Liman, the Bourne Identity and Mr. And Mrs. Smith helmer who is himself an avid climber and fan of the Mallory story, has an actor who is a strong match for the intensity that burned in Mallory to get to the top of the mountain and beat another great climber, Australian George Finch (the grandfather of actor Peter Finch). Everest has been scaled many times since, but it is still dangerous–there are plenty of bodies near the final summit of those who got close but failed–but in Mallory’s time, it was like trying to become the first man on the moon.

Tom Hardy: Ranking His 6 Recent Roles September 22, 2012 10:11 am Andy Wong (WHATCULTURE)

Tom Hardy has only recently begun to grace our big screens with his presence on a regular basis and solidify himself as a rising star to watch. Though appearing in many TV series, miniseries, and films in the British entertainment industry, it wasn’t until a few short years ago when his fame exploded and sent him flying straight into Hollywood with the help of a little dream. Hardy follows the trend of the attractively-immature actor we see nowadays taking the film industry by storm. He doesn’t have the old Hollywood class that is usually present in male actors and is not too concerned about his image. Instead he brings a youthful, more modern, and fresh approach that oozes of charm and dare I say, swag.

6. Tuck Hansen (This Means War)

Tuck was probably the character with the least intricacies on this list. He was a hopeless romantic, which practically covers the entire misunderstood-slick-loner-softy type I mentioned before to a certain degree. With what he was given, I think Hardy did wonderfully. He was awkward when he needed to be and he was hopeless when he needed to be. That being said, he lacked chemistry with Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, and even his son in the film. I didn’t buy for a second the “falling out” he had with Pine’s character. He really only had chemistry with his own thoughts, which is a feat in itself, but not something to aim for in a character driven film. In the end, it was just a forgettable role.

5. Eames (Inception)

He was a misunderstood loner – not the “emo” type mind you, just that he was misunderstood as a loner – as he preferred working alone and through illusions while he was also a slick softy as his friendly rivalry with Arthur showed. He was quick-witted, clever, and the recipe for a popular character. He easily stuck out from the large cast with the help of a little charisma, but seeing as how he wasn’t as well known as Leonardo DiCaprio for example, no one really thought too much about him. Not much else I can say.

4. Ricki Tarr (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy)

Like Inception, Hardy’s character is part of an ensemble cast making it hard to stand out. However, he does so easily in this film due to the nature and look of his character. Tarr’s infatuation with the character Irina romanticizes a film in drastic need of light – or any sort of emotion on that. His naive, almost childish demeanor sharply contrasts that of any other character, making him a sort of oasis in the desert of grit.

Lawless Dish About Shia, Tom Hardy, and Jessica Chastain By Michael Musto Fri., Aug. 31 2012 at 10:20 AM 3 Comments Categories: Film (THE VILLAGE VOICE)

At a BoConcept dinner at Chateau Chang last night, I met Dany Wolf, who executive produced Lawless, the period drama about a bootlegging gang.

On command, Wolf graciously gave me some insight into the all-star shooting.

*Said Wolf:

"Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy showed up on the set looking bigger than we needed.

"The film is set in the Prohibition era and no one had buff bodies then.

"But they were built up, Tom because he was getting ready to play Bane in Dark Knight Rises.

"Still, it works in the movie.

"The funny thing is, at Cannes, they were both skinny again!"

*In another story about picking up extra poundage, Wolf told me that when Hardy was driving with Jessica Chastain one day, they came across a stray dog on the freeway and became deeply concerned.

They promptly took the dog into the car, got him checked out and licensed, and proceeded to share custody of him!

Yikes.

I don't like hearing stories about nice celebrities.

I prefer them a little bit...Lawless.

Tom Hardy: Tom Hardy, Leonardo DiCaprio, And Tobey Maguire To Produce Film About Animal Trafficking (CINEMA BLEND)

Author: Eric Eisenberg

Tom Hardy, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tobey Maguire are pooling together their collective Hollywood influence to make a film about the serious issue of international animal-trafficking. The project, initially thought up by Hardy, is being developed as a Traffic-style multi-plotted tale that will examine how animals are tortured and abused all across the globe.

According to THR, Hardy was initially inspired by Special Forces operatives who traveled to South Africa and other nations as anti-poaching fighters. The trade says that the film will have a wide scope, looking at everything from "the ground war on poachers in the African savanna to how animal material ends up in the fashion houses of Paris." It's unknown at this time if any of the three actors will appear in the movie themselves, but they will serve as producers. Warner Bros. has agreed to house the project and the search is currently on for a writer.

Guy Pearce: Hardy is a mountain (BELFAST TELEGRAPH)

Guy Pearce has described Tom Hardy as an "emotional mountain".

The actor is starring alongside Tom in the new movie Lawless and was full of praise for the British hunk.

Guy admitted it was difficult not to feel intimidated by Tom.

"It's so brilliant that Tom Hardy is playing the role, because he is the most exciting actor I've seen in a long time... And he brings a weight, an integrity and a power to the screen that is incredibly compelling?," he told website Flicks and Bits. "The first scene that we had together was me feeling like I'm running rings around this man, not being intimidated by him. And that was very difficult, because he's like a mountain, a mount emotionally and physically. I think that will translate on screen."
